Modric - No Longer A Spurs Player

Claiming your not in the right frame of mind, whilst earning 40k a week, because a new job where you'll double your money isn't available that you really really want isn't acceptable to me. I said at the time what would be wrong with his head exactly????

He chose not to, put the club we all love second to himself, which I can't defend him for I'm afraid sorry.
Some people just aren't that shallow.

Trust me mate, Alonso I have no idea about and was speculating, but I do know we asked about two players that were, frankly, absurd IMHO...I think we might have done it as much to make sure we ended up with the actual price we wanted as with any concrete hopes of getting the player(s).

And those two players are?.......

i just think everyone's getting a bit ahead of themselves re PSG - their team doesn't compare to the real top sides and is still only 2/3 years in the making mostly - big ask to be thinking of the CL at this stage

they should have tinkled the French League last season - but got beaten by a team that spend a fraction of what they do

plus they will be 3rd/4th seeds this year - will struggle to get out of the group IMO - in fact that would be a better bet ;)

I think they will get out of their group unless they get a real tough group.

I agree with you though that their chances of winning it this year seem slim. They are putting together a team that will need time to gel and they won't get top class opposition in the league to really test themselves. If/when they come up against teams that not only have a ton of superstars, but are also well oiled functioning teams that have more experience playing together and playing against very good sides I think they will come up short.

if we had Harry, He would never of done this
Harry would have put his arm around his shoulder, AVB has no man management skills

AVB OUT!

Why bother? I mean, really, why bother?

Sigh. Let em just point out that I much prefer a manager who does as he's told by the chairman, who tells the truth and who doesn't contradict him at every turn.

He is a troll, look what he has written about ledley in that thread...

Ah, yes, this is Bale, my apologies.

I'm a firm free speech advocate, so I don't recommend banning anyone, no matter how much of a troll they may be, but surely there has to be a system in place for Bale? Perhaps a rather loud 'honk' every time you hit a page with a Bale comment in it, as a bit of a warning?

Modric can go get fudged! I'm not gonna pull out classic lines such as 'greedy ****' cos frankly I don't think that's what motivates him he is head and shoulders above our other players and we aren't gonna win the league anytime soon, I also can't blame anyone for wanting to play for real Madrid biggest team in the world etc you'd be mad not to want this once in a life time chance HOWEVER the way Modric is going about to get this move sums up what classless snivelling piece of brick he really is. Gone down massively in my estimations as a person(not that I knew him or anything but you catch my drift) I've always thought this is what would happen tbh and main reason is cos he's so chummy with the dinamo Zagreb owner or whatever he is ask anyone with any basic knowledge of eastern European football about him and you'll know he's an absolute twunt of the highest order

He's a player.

They're all ****s. Take Van Persie, Tevez, Rooney and co. as examples. No respect, just shameless self-posturing.

I like the fact that the media are now starting to appreciate us as a club for standing up to the little ****s, though. There was a Goal.com article up earlier in the day that bemoaned the lack of loyalty Van Persie was showing but praised us as a 'shining light' or similar for standing up to Modric last year and telling him to do one.

People are angry. People are slowly learning not to believe the badge-kissing lies, as well. Football needs to change before it goes into a complete tailspin, and loses the loyalty that is key to its existence.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has criticised midfielder Luka Modric who will also be fined £80,000 for refusing to train.

Modric tried to quit Spurs for Chelsea a year ago under the then management of Harry Redknapp, and this summer appears keen on a switch to Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Reports have suggested that the Croatia international has failed to travel with Spurs on the tour of America - something Villas-Boas has alluded to in the Spanish press.

Speaking to AS, he is reported as saying: 'I think Modric is wrong. This will go against him. He has worsened the situation with what he's doing and now the chairman (Daniel Levy) is very angry.

'This is also not a good time for Daniel Levy, who is in the USA at the moment, because his wife is ill.'

Villas-Boas also admitted Modric would be a major loss if he leaves Spurs.

'He's good, very good. I tried to sign him last summer for Chelsea. He will be a big loss.

'He's a player who can make the difference, who gives a lot of clarity to the play when the team needs it and who can play in several positions,' he said.

Are these even real quotes?

This course of action may have negative effects in that clubs will know how much we have but we really should follow Napoli's suit - come out in the press and put down the gauntlet to Real.

You want Modric - stump up £40m or shut the fudge up.

fudge him, he should spend a year training with the u14's if this is true, he could have been professional and still got his move but with disrespectful action like this he should be severely punished

I love that Madrid and Modric think they can bully us into selling, he still has FOUR years left on his deal, we can pretty much play this game quite easily for the next two years.

Pay what we want or he's staying here, simples. A transfer request means absolutely nothing.
