Modric - No Longer A Spurs Player

I dont think we are asking for 5m to much I just think Real are trying to bully us and offering 5-10m too little.

They are ****s and as far as im concerned - I wouldnt even want to sell to them. They can talk to mODRIC AS MUCH AS THEY LIKE BEHIND OUR BACKS BUT UNLESS THEY OFFER US WHAT WE WANT THEN HE WILL JUST STAY.

I sincerely hope Levy does not buckle over this. I dont mind selling just on our damn terms.

On this I trust Levy to get the business done. He will not buckle.

You keep inferring that it's the Daily Mail which produced these - in your mind - inaccurate stories/quotes, yet the source - as I gave you the other day when you pompously requested it - was Croatian.

I note that you ignored that.

That is because I can not read Croatian. And I am sure there are more parties in this that can not read Croatian, including most British journalists.

In contrast, a statement that he has done nothing wrong is speculation that assumes a pattern of behaviour that is different to previous behaviour.

The previous behaviour of British press doesn't really help their case either ;)

Allright, I'll stop arguing. I've said what I can say.
I defend innocent until proven otherwise, but I can't spend all day trawling the internet for evidence.
But if what Sheik just posted is true this debate will be over quite soon.

You don't think journalists employ translators?

Mate, with respect, you're making a total fool of yourself. You're at pains to put all the blame on the Daily Mail or "British journalists" yet all they're reporting, is from a source which originated in Croatia. That source is the one which carries the quotations from Luka Modric, yet I've not seen you criticise their interpretations, only that of the Daily Mail and/or "British journalists".

I used to work in the media and communications industry, namely at a very high profile press office. Believe me, there is a small industry around translations, and that source will have been parsed when it came out. You're seriously making yourself look a bit of a fool, if your reliance is on the idea that no-one outside of Croatia can speak Croatian

You're so keen to defend Luka Modric, yet I think you'd be better placed to actually take note of the quotes which he is feeding to the Croatian press. It's not good enough to base your character defense on the flimsy 'lost in translation' line - because that's just weak and tenuous at best.

Modric hasn't joined the rest of the squad to board the plane to the US this morning. What's your ridiculous 'explanation' for that then, prey tell? Can you not see how your insistence is somewhat at odds which Modric's actual behaviour? Perhaps one day you'll wake up and realise that - actually - Modric isn't this holier-than-thou character which you're so keen to believe.

Translators translate. Journalists rewrite it. There's your answer.

You aren't really getting what I am trying to say anyway. I am not defending Luka Modric and his actions, I am defending his right not to be guilty of being a dingdong until he actually is. I think you read too much into my username, I am not Modric fanboy, I could be named Little Aaron or Big Ade for what it is worth.

As for being a fool, at least I'll be a fool sticking to principles. If you want to call me names, enjoy.

Modric refuses to fly with Tottenham Hotspur on US Tour to Los Angeles...

modricasavion.png

Real Tottenhamu: Mi smo vama pomogli s Van der Vaartom i Adebayorom!

1. Edin Džeko 32 milijuna eura
2. Elvir Baljić 26 milijuna eura
3. Savo Milošević 25 milijuna eura
4. Aleksandar Kolarov 22.7 milijuna eura
5. Luka Modrić 22 milijuna eura
6. Nikola Žigić 20 milijuna eura
7. Darko Kovačević 17 milijuna eura
7. Siniša Mihajlović 17 milijuna eura
8. Dejan Stanković 15 milijuna eura
8. Miloš Krasić 15 milijuna eura
8. Eduardo da Silva 15 milijuna eura

Index writes so much brick that it's unreal. Last week there was an article of Modric being unveiled at a press conference...ON PRO EVO 2012!

There is absolutely no Luka Modric quotes anywhere.Your source(index.hr) is the worst portal you could find to get information from.

Oh please, don't be so precious - this isn't the playground, so man up.

So, what do you make of Luka Modric refusing to join Tottenham Hotspur on their US trip?

Personally, I think that's highly unprofessional, dingdong-like behaviour.

What say you?

Provide a quote from modric/spurs that states he has 'refused'.

As far as i can tell, AVB might just think he'll upset the squad balance if he's 100% nailed on to leave.

Do you not think Modric's behaviour has contributed to him not attending the rep-season tour of America?

If so don't you think thats brick from a professional player on Modric's wages?

Oh I'm sorry, was I talking about the index.hr story?

That's funny, because I thought I was referring to the story which I referenced 'Little Luka' a few days ago.

Take your own advice before lecturing others my friend.

The other day on Talksport Graham Hunter said we have agreed a €40m base fee and are just now haggling over the bonus/add on elements (€4-7m he said iirc).

I generally consider Hunter one of the best journalists in Spain and not the sort to put his colours to the mast like this unless he was sure (unlike balague who talks a hell of a lot without a huge strike rate!)

We have previously been reported as having a good relationship with Madrid.

It is reported Modric is not training.

Could it be that instead of Madrid trying to screw us, Modric going on strike and us having to fight a real battle we are in fact in far advanced negotiations and everything is very civil?

I had a real rant about Madrid earlier, but it occurs to me - what was it based upon? Nothing substantive IMO.

I keep catching myself getting caught getting wound up with ideas of Madrid screwing us or Modric f*cking us about - then coming back to this post from yesterday.

What is actually factually true? Modric isnt going to America. Do we know why? Well, no, we dont.

Could be with our blessing, could be he is on strike - we have no way of knowing at this point

He hasn't refused to go anywhere as far as we know (which is the point), so until then he is not a dingdong, but a player for the team I love.

If he refuses to join the team for the US trip because he wants to join RM then he is breaching the contract and I wouldn't consider him a player worth having in our team anymore. If that means dingdong, then a dingdong it is.

And before you come running with the last season situation, he didn't officially refuse anything. Harry said his head wasn't right. In other words, we don't know if he refused, and we most likely will never know.

This.

People are speculating about it, whilst in essence they know very little.

I cant agree with this. However you cut it Luka made it clear he couldnt/shouldnt/wouldnt play - otherwise Harry would most certainly played him against the biggest team in the country.

And the following week when his "dream move" still hadnt happened but he had to play he was cack.

Luka either refused, or gave Harry no option but to drop him - same difference IMHO.
