Mikey Moore

He had long legs and could put in a burst but I can't agree waddle was quick.

Anderton ws more like waddle than Moore.

Waddles game wasn't about pace despite being a winger. He was just ridiculously skillful.

He made space differently.
Waddle's best trick was to beat his man then let the defender catch him back up ...so he could beat him again. To really put the defenders mind thru the meat grinder.

Absolute gold was the Waddler.

I'm hoping Mikey's x-factor is going to be his finishing. There's been a few things he's done in front of goal that have impressed me. I think I got that feeling from pre-season. Didn't he score a couple? I know all the clips of him as a kid implied he's a good finisher.
Think he's a player with several x-factors. Dribbling and ball carrying, vision, but also a good ball striker and composed.
Can never know how a player develops, and some fantastic talents have disappeared to have no real career at the top level (or close to it). But feels like Moore just needs a bit of time with the only question being how long.

he is still very young and naturally has still a long way to go.
against brentford he got shoved around like a boy literally

maybe he is still gaining match fitness from a very long layoff, but he looked slow in straight line speed.
totally different when he going zig zag, excellent balance and turn of pace

also the epl is of course at a totally different pace and i thought he got caught out in a few situations in the brentford game.
or it was just a bad day at the office - but it was right to take him off.

I think the performance was largely because he was on the right hand side and his natural game is too dribble towards goal rather than go on the outside. His style of dribble pattern just doesn't really work on the right side where he would need to go the outside more. His crossing can be good from that side though.

I would send him on loan. Perhaps he hasn't been sent as we need the numbers and we want to give him a run. For me he is physically not ready for the EPL. He is a bit like Dane was.

Wasn't a great performance. But showed he could do a job imo. Not playing in his (for now at least) best position, starting a game away against a good team. Could easily have had an assist. We've seen several of our wide players have similar "meh" performances.

For sure he has some way to go and at 17 he's obviously not the finished article. But I think he shows himself to be useful and I think he could step up another level in the not too distant future.

Hes no worse that Johnson on the right, actually more involved on the ball. The right doesn't look like the place for him at the mo, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he needs a loan, He just doesn't suit playing on the right-hand side. With a fit squad, I suppose the order is probably supposed to be Son -> Odobert -> Moore. So there should be plenty of time for him to develop without having to be directly reliant on him immediately.

But we then need an alternative to Johnson on the right
I hope it’s dibling

I knew this would happen, our 17 year old saviour has let us all down. He's a kid still learning the game, bags of talent just need time and experience. Too many fans are expecting far too much from him in this struggling side, symptom of the modern game where you are either "world class" or brick, no middle ground.
Exactly.
He is ready to be in the squad and get bits and pieces of football at the moment.
Circumstances have put him starting.
He's been useful when he's played - exactly where we'd expect him to be.

He's clearly not at his best on right, but that's also probably a good thing for his development
