Luka Vuskovic

Yeah - I reckon he'll go and do 3 years at Swansea, then come back into our coaching setup.
Actually, having heard him in interviews, I think it will be less coaching but rather upstairs management. He seems to be really interested in the business of football. I am not sure if you are aware but in 2021 he attained a Second Class Upper in Economics and Business from the Open University.

He is def in the conversation, best I ever saw live, incredible
Yes of course he is, as a pure defender from memory I would probably go with Cannavaro but they were completely different style of players. Incidentally I remember talking to some Italians at the time and they reckoned that while Baresi was very good, he wasn’t as good as Scirea!
Edit: Apologies for derailing the thread, Vuskovic looks a fantastic prospect.

Levy's apprentice then! Fight his way up the pole, then oust Josh for the top role when Levy retires.

I watched the last 2 Westerlo games because you get a double bubble with both Vuskovic and Devine playing.

Vuskovic is CLEARLY the best player on the park, he just dominates everyone, pinging passes with both feet, strolling into midfield, laying it off, dropping the shoulder, beating players, dribbling with both feet, scoring headers, scoring strikes, scoring in scrambles, playing 1-2s, like a 15 year old playing vs 12 year olds.

Good to hear that what's been shown with highlights matches what you can see when watching the game.

Even though the Belgian league isn't a top league having a 17 year old dominate like that and a centre back at that is so rare.

How do you think his defending has been?

Generally dominant and simply intercepts or wins headers and clears and is under control.
Occasionally the ball will be in the mixer and before you can blink it is in the net, but it is hard to tell whose fault it is tbh.

I wonder what sort of loan he'll be ready for next season with the rapid progress he seems to be showing?

It's a great bonus in a centreback but reading the game is what makes a great defender, Baresi and Moore were classic examples.
In general, yes. But playing a high line means good pace is essential. No point in being able to read the game if you are 15 yards away because the tactics put you there.
Football tactics have become so prescribed that some of the individual skills become diluted. Which is a shame, because I love a defender that outsmart an attacker. I'm a big believer that games are won in the head

Anyone know if he's quick? If so, It would be a major advantage the way we play

Difficult to tell, but the video that got posted yesterday.

At 1:20 in, and attacker is running at him, he quickly matches the speed and puts in a challenge. The attacker does get held a little from a nother defender, but shows some pace
