Lucas Bergvall

Absolutely.

I'm not sure if Gray is naturally more conservative or if he's playing to what the role requires. How conservative would he be playing as an 8? Not sure. But fully agreed that a double pivot like that, or a 6-8-10 system with Bergvall as the 8 could be great at some point.

Two players with sky high potential.
I think we are going to re-invent football and have 3 CM that are so naturally skillful, technical and intelligent that they all play 6,8 and 10 rolls at the same time in the same match. :) ... completely bamboozling the opposition.

After his performances on Saturday and this evening I would rest him in the cup and save him for the Goons

I agree but our choices of who to rest are limited, looking at last nights bench who do we bring in, Austin, Reguilon, Lankshear, Moore, Werner and Johnson, bring in Maddison and Sarr. They are all good players but are they a team? It should be good enough but in the cup anything can happen

He will do really well, right up until he receives his red card on 60 minutes

He is going to get a red at soon, we'd be as well getting it out of the way now.
Was listening to the five live after the arsenal v utd game and they were talking about dalots red and just seemlessly moved right onto bergval.
Different game, different teams, different competition, different circumstances, but let's just throw it in. And they are not the only ones, every mention of Bergvall is followed by "he was lucky to not be sent off".
It's been explained by PGMOL, by ange and by slott as to why it was not a second yellow card, so until "justice" is seen to be done this will follow him around.

Bergvall is slowly but surely taking more risks going forward. He has an engine to match Kulusevski and it felt like we added another person in midfield when we replaced Maddision with him at Tamworth

I would be happy to see him start against the Goons, I cannot imagine it would phase him
I would be happy with that too. But also happy with Bissouma and two of Sarr, Kulusevski and Maddison. In that case very good player to have on the bench.

Agreed if you're talking about those forward runs off the ball like against Liverpool. Ange talked about him having to work on the physical side earlier in the season and seems now to have that stamina you talk of.

On the ball I think he's playing with a bit less risk than early on in the season. He seemed desperate to make something happened and as someone said at some point looked like a player used to being the best player on the pitch having to get used to not being that.

Making better decisions on the ball now, when to take risks and when not to.
