I think Bergvall is staking a claim for regular first team starter with performances like today. I’d have him alongside Sarr and with Kulusevski as the number 10 as it stands.

I thought Sarr was really poor today. We looked far better when Bissouma replaced him.

Bergwall tried to be clever instead of being safe. It was a position on the pitch to be safe rather than clever. In a year or two’s time I think he takes the other option. That is just part of developing as a player

He had to stretch just to reach the ball first, don't think he had a safe option on?

Struggled at times defensively along with the rest of the team in periods in the first half. But showed what he can do, particularly in the second half. Up against some really good midfielders.

Gets stuck in, takes responsibility and plays with bravery on the ball, some great technical quality, switching between roles.

Really impressive for an 18 year old. Good stuff from him, settling in well now it seems and showing why he was so highly rated when we signed him.

He had no safe option, he stretched to get a touch at all. Not his fault. Not being fancy.

Yep he was at maximum stretch and could only manage a desperate flick. That said Howe anticipated our passing movements and their players were anticipating that.

Maddison was OK, but faded pretty quickly as a dynamic influence on the game (whilst a couple of others, such as Porro, kept on creating). We need to upgrade in the summer if we are serious about winning trophies IMO...now watch him bend the winner in from a free kick in the Europa Final LOL!

He does that when fresh and rested regularly

Yeah, but I would expect Bissouma to be better there.
Bergvall filled in well, and showed some good quality when we get him a bit higher on the pitch.

What you say is important. Even though we've lost Gray to centre half, we have had Biss, Bents, Sarr, Bergval, Kulu and Madds available to play in the 3 slots. We've even seen Kulu covering on the right, and Bents and Biss missing games through suspension.

Our midfield is fresh because they share 90 mins and rotate from game to game. It's about the only position we've managed that.

I’ve always seen him as a. Box to box type form what little I’ve seen
Like a sarr but with passing range and maybe not as much running

I have a feeling Gray might end up staying as a centre half. Just a hunch.
