Lucas Bergvall

In my mind it isn't a 'might' at all. I think it is guaranteed that he will become really good. Players of that age just don't have that sort of impact in the centre of midfield if they're not destined for great things. He is playing in the very hardest part of the pitch and more than holding his own.

This is a piece a lot of people have missed

- At 24, there were games Winks (not picking on him) looked out of place, the weak link, been the same for a lot of players in these tough positions CM/CB/FB over the years
- Bergvall, Gray, Moore, Sarr (previously) have walked into the first team and while they may not be finished/perfect, they are holding their own, to the casual observer, you wouldn't know that is a 17/18 year old. That is a testament to your point.

Not concerned at all on my side for any of those 3.

While I agree with the overall point I also think those three, including Bergvall, haven't been played in the most difficult roles so far. DM/6 along perhaps with being a proper ball playing CB typically are more difficult for younger players.

Bergvall has mostly played as the most advanced of our 3 midfielders, at times the box to box role. These are roles where my impression is that we see younger players thrive in more often.

But the way they play signals a lot of good things to come. Taking responsibility, working well on the ball and defensively. Not looking out of place in any phase of play (apart from Gray defending on the break against really rapid players perhaps).

For Moore he's only had two starts in men's competitive football and barely played U21 games. Incredibly impressive to step up like that. But Bergvall too, the step up from Sweden to our level (even in the EL) is significant.

It’s a massive step up
And it will have some highs and lows
Fans have to accept it
