Keep or get rid

I think he means 'sell'
Cool thanks.

If an upgrade on a player is possible then we should do it. But that shouldn’t always mean sell the existing player. For instance if we sell Vicario we’d be in the market for a backup. May as well keep him as backup.

We build a strong squad by relegating starters to backups and selling existing backups. Eventually we’ll get to a point where difference between starters and backups are minuscule, quality throughout.

I think some players on here are overrated and we have nothing more than a decent squad of which many are young players so such fluctuations are to be expected. We are in and around top 6 challenging and that's where we should be. We have a massive CM shaped hole, our CMs are inconsistent and not top quality - until that is fixed regardless of what needs upgrading in other areas we will never improve on challenging top 6....

In the Million Dollar Man's famous words: 'everybody's got a price'. It all depends on what other clubs are willing to offer. I can't think of anyone I would let go for free at the moment, which is my idea of 'get rid'.

Unless something special happens, it's quite likely we will finish in mid-table. A lot of people will say, if only we'd won the Palace / Ipswich / next game we should be winning but won't and it's equally likely that Postecoglou will be gone in a year. So, unless one of our players is an incredibly toxic influence or we receive a good offer, I'd keep them all and let the next guy decide.

Nobody's irreplaceable (if you have a good scouting system).

Continue building. The weaknesses in the squad are essentially what they were at the end of the transfer window.

We're a bit short at LCB cover and are a bit short on quality ball playing CBs, making us very reliant on Romero. We're short one quality full back option. We're short a dribbly boy quality winger and we're short a top level passing (and defensively super solid) DM.

Who can we sign, how will the younger players develop, how will the not quite as young players develop. Who steps up and who doesn't. That will decide who should stay or go outside probably a couple of players.

I know i keep banging on about it but we need a proper DM until we do that our defending is always going to look ragged.
We could then stop playing Bentacur as a makeshift one and allow him to roam [ which is what he is best at].

As for who i would let go that is a harder choice but Maddison would be up there[ to hit and miss for me].

The "if we'd have won that game we'd be Xth in the league" comment is always an odd one to me - Literally any team / fans of that team can say it, however, what actually happens takes precedence over what could or should have happened.

The "We're 3 points away from 3rd" is puzzling one as well, I mean we're 2 points away from 13th as well. From a cursory glance we'd be 3rd if we beat City and every other result went our way, odds on that? The results of the games will dictate where we'll finish (you don't have to thank me for stating the obvious!).

5th to 10th seems like a fair prediction to me, I do think Ange will stay, but if he doesn't I don't see it being the fan's fault like some seem to make out. The guy will look a bit of an arse for his "I win things in the 2nd season" comment if we stack it in the cups as well as having a mediocre league campaign.

We have spent a lot and seem to still be acquiring players that don't suit the system, Dragu seemingly being the most recent with Solomon before him but that admittedly is cherry picking.

Edit - The above seems a tad harsh on Dragu but I am not meaning to say he isn't going to make it, he's just not a brilliant ball playing CB and the Solomon shout is not a sign of a bad transfer policy, just an imperfect one which goes for all of them..

I’d add that we need top class wingers as 1A as the highest priority to fix along with the CM’s. We don’t have a standout in any position.

I think we have a nucleus but have gaps in depth still
We don’t have any okayed who stands out as a leader although recently I’ve seen Vicario and Kulu take on the role well
Games like today highlight to me the lack of leadership in key roles
Vicario makes me nervous and I’m only watching. He’s turned into Jordan Pickford on speed. GHod knows what it’s like having him in nets behind you.

I think he is a top keeper myself
Yep he has some issues but every keeper does
Saw him yesterday run out to our left to say something to Udogie midway through second half. Seemed to be the only player giving instructions

I don't really want to sell anyone, I feel bad for even suggesting we should, but there are some I reckon we should probably move on at some point.

Dragusin - He hasn't been here long, and is always played on the left, but he looks very stressed when under pressure, and just isn't a great passer, which we really need from back there. I hope he can somehow step up and get better at those things, but I fear that he probably won't.

I like Romero, but he's a bit of a ticking bomb (less so now than before), and just seems unfocused a lot of the time, so if we get the right offer for him, should probably sell.

I really like Bentancur as a player, but not sure he really fits our system now. He might be a better fit under another manager. We should maybe let him go.

I quite like Richarlison and wouldn't mind him as backup to Solanke, but if the right offer comes in, we'll obviously sell, get that Delap kid in from Ipswich.

I think Bissouma is a decent backup, but we should really upgrade on him. Someone like Ederson at Atalanta would be fantastic, I reckon.

I think Vicario is decent, but surely there's a keeper out there who is both a good shot stopper and more commanding in the box?

Werner and Solomon can obviously be let go.

Keep the rest (including Son and Davies). But what do I know.
