He was lucky yesterday. In real time, standing behind the goal, it looked like a penalty to me. It was a dangerous action. But one of his strengths is that he doesn’t let those instances get the better of him and he still put in a performance of confidence and maturity. He shows immense promise for one so young in a CB position but mistakes in that area can be the most damaging, and we will see him being targeted by savvy strikers. Fortunately he seems very capable on the whole of dealing with that and he will learn through experience

I agree with you completely. I too was massively relieved when the ref waved away Hazard's first penalty appeal. I think that would've been given 8 times out of 10 and we would be absolutely fuming if we had been denied a penalty there in those same circumstances. I really like Foyth's calmness on the ball and his positional sense is very good for such a young, inexperienced player but he definitely has to learn to be more careful when in his own penalty area.

I can cope with a Foyth hammy although i'm hoping it's just a couple of weeks, not a huge tear or something?

Though to be pedantic, is there an argument that yesterday’s challenge was obstruction and so would have been an indirect free kick?

Still clumsy though.

I had Tony Gale commentating, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why he was so certain that was a pen. Foyth is completely entitled to get his body there first and it looked to me like he was hauled over by Wilson...

I think he’ll be fine.

Phil Thompson was doing the game on Soccer Saturday also thought it was a pen and he always speaks highly of Spurs. It looked a pen to me too, if it happened to one of our attackers we’d expect a pen that’s for sure.

Regardless of whether you think it was or wasn’t he has demonstrated now on several occasions he is clumsy in the box and needs to cut it out of his game. I’m sure he will....

No doubt clumsy in the first game against Wolves, and the Hazard pen incident I can definitely see being given, but this one I was just confused. He’s allowed to get his body there, and Wilson then drags him to the ground. No where near as controversial a call as being made out.
