I do not doubt Son will be back, it is the "when" that concerns me. Neither Rose or Lamela were due to be out this long. We all know Spurs have previous for getting things like this wrong

Son's is an arm injury. He'll be back as soon as he's out of hard plaster (it's injury he can do to others while in plaster that's the main reason he won't be able to play).

It's knee/ankle/hip joint injuries that tend to get complicated/have delays

Either way, as we are competing on 4 fronts I would hope we buy another striker to compliment our strike force

I can't see Son's injury putting him on the sideline. It's a fracture, and you're in hard plaster for maximum 6 weeks. It's already over 2 weeks since he got it, so he'll be out of the hard plaster 2 weeks before the start of the season. I broke my foot and played 5 weeks later. Shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think it is the club getting it wrong, it is just that some injuries are difficult to diagnose. There is no reason to believe that the problems with Rose and Lamela should be carried across to other players

I would agree, he has Broken his arm which is a completely different injury to Lamela and Rose.

4 strikers would leave us with too big a squad and disharmony. Kazaiah Sterling needs to take on that role.

If we are serious about competing in 4 competitions then I would want more than Vincent Jansen (2 league goals) and Kazaiah Sterling as I feel Son has always played his best football for us in the league behind a main striker.

Agreed. Amazed that some people here think we have enough depth in various positions in order to be able to compete on all fronts

No point trying to convince people of the need for depth. Some people absolutely believe that we could never have Kane, Janssen plus one other and keep them happy yet if we got to the quarter finals of all 3 cups that we are in plus our 38 league games then that is 55 games for the season. If you are successful and going into the latter stages of all of the cups then you need depth and players will get game time, some more than others but overall, most players will be happy if they play or take part in 60%-75% of those games for the season.

But what side that plays one up top has 3 quality strikers???

They don't all have to be Top quality though. I wouldn't say signing King (not that I say I want him either) leaves us with 3 quality forwards. That's 2 with potential and 1 recognised quality forward but it gives us depth and choice. I don't see all this flim flam about how if we bring another one in suddenly a revolt is going to occur and people will be kick off left, right and centre and that is pretty much the case being made by people not wanting another forward signed.

If they improve the squad and can play instead of or with Kane (as a 2 or behind him) then quite frankly I don't really care if players get a little bit cheesed off about not playing. That is for Poch to manage and sort out and I trust him to do it as he has done on many previous occasions.

There is room for King. If Sissoko had a half decent shot we wouldn't need him. As it is Sissoko can't shoot for toffee. King would be an upgrade on Sissoko. The obstacle is his importance to Bournemouth.

Maybe offer Bournemouth Sissoko and Onomoha on loan - I think both would do well there - plus £5m.

King can finish. We need more players who can tuck the ball away.

Your logic this close-season is strange to me. On the one hand you seem hellbent on forecasting doom if we sell Walker (despite Trippier and Walker-Peters) yet you would be satisfied to promote Sterling over buying a proven Premiership forward who suits everything out manager is looking for in an option off the bench.

That you don't seem to appreciate how important Poch finds chemistry in the squad is alarming. Do not doubt the manager. He knows.

It just seems we've finally perfected the 22 man squad thing. Ample cover but with no flab and no disruptive outcasts. So basically I think we should be strictly 1 in 1 out now.

So buying a 3rd #9 would be a mistake. But I'd definitely replace Sissoko with a 6th AM.

Re RB, I just think Trippier is a massive downgrade on Walker. I'd be happy to sell Trippier and promote KWP to 2nd choice though

Erik Thorstvedt saying to Norwegian media today that he thinks king might be on his way to spurs.

Thin soup, but occasionally these old players know a thing or two. He's probably just speculating though.

Slow window. :p

It's a signing I'd be happy with. He would fit it - strong, hard working, pace and of course...potential. Seems like a signing we should be going for.

Has he played behind the main striker too? I'm thinking of something akin to how Son plays , maybe replacing Sissoko in the squad.

As i said before ( imo) it will depend on the price they want for him, he has had one good season so the price has to be right and not inflated like some that are being paid.

For me, as long as the manager wants him we get him. I believe this has been in the works for a while, and given that Bournemouth have just bought Begovic, Defoe and Ake, they'll be looking to get some back. I think in the current climate 25-30 for a Premiership broken-in player is about right.

Well as i have said Poch knows more about what our team/squad needs then we do and because of that i am happy to let him get on with it. However IF we are going to buy him as another striker i would question that amount of fee for him. He has played 178 games in English football and only scored 33 goals ( 16 of them last season) hence me saying he has had one good season.

But at the end of the day its what Poch wants that matters.
