For me it depends. I have faith that the guy will start to find the net before too long, but right now he's scored 1 goal from open play in 9 league starts. There are another 9 league games before the window opens. If he's only scored one more by January...? Are you saying you wouldn't want to consider dropping Soldado to the bench and bringing in someone new who could at least challenge him for the starting spot? Ideally forcing Soldado to raise his game, but capable of stepping up if he doesn't.
Because 1 goal from open play every 9 starts isn't good enough for our first choice striker (I'm happy about the penalties too of course, but it's the ones from open play that speak of his skill as a striker). And if he's still scoring at that rate by January then we need to think about making a change.
Once again though, I don't believe it'll come to that. By Christmas I think we'll be seeing a better goal return from our attacking players. I certainly hope so!
