As delighted as I am that we are where we are there is nothing wrong with being completely puzzled by a frankly bizarre transfer window. I have no clue what the strategy is, and sure I will back the manager (never ever been one of Harry's critics unlike many) but doesn't mean one shouldn't ask questions. Ryan Nelsen may be cover, but if we do need him I find it odd that we are taking a player whose fitness Blackburn have no confidence in. If Walker is okay and our main men are fine then no problem it will be a nothing transfer. Meanwhile, Pienaar may have been on the fringes, but Harry himself said no way to him leaving because it would leave us short - particularly as we failed to get Krasic in. So why shouldn't a fan wonder about that? If the manager was concerned about squad depth so should we. If we are putting in place stop gaps before seeing where the land lies in the summer then thats okay, but lets be clear that we will need additions and more long-term solutions. But in so doing we may also find ourselves short in areas as we move to the most criticial stage of the season. All the successes of 2011 will mean nothing if we start sliding because we have left ourselves short. As for players, I don't slag them off so lets avoid all the rubbish blind loyalty because I for one am not willing to accept that our transfer strategy is currently based on what is best for the squad, and that is a question about the chairman NOT the manager.
