Interesting. Re the bolded bit where did he work previously?
 
A 70 minute meandering ramble that looks like that could easily have been pared down to a brisk and more credible 15-20 mins. Enough playing the decent, earnest bloke to get people on side. Just report what you know. Keep it simple and direct. I don't doubt he's trying hard but his credibility will go up a notch above self-directed, home-based journalist when he delivers something exclusive that arsewipes like Eccleshare don't have.

Ffs he just does a once a week vid to have a chat about spurs. He doesn't make much money out of it. (It's what $3 per 1000 views, he gets what 60k views). People complain either way. Either he says too much or says too little. If you don't like it don't watch it.

He is also a nice guy and friendly (we met him at Everton a few years ago)
 
And that's the crux of the biscuit right there.

I don't doubt Ali's heart is in the right place. He's clearly a Spurs fan and I don't dismiss that lightly. I'd have him at the Arseletic in a heartbeat over that wancking poseur gooner Eccleshare. But the Football London website is truly an abomination and eyesore. It's unreadable and undercuts the credibility of anyone who contributes to it. Is Gold one of it's principal operators?
 
Is it the same as the mirror and liverpool echo etc... they are just terrible to try and read anything. I mean whoever lays out the website?
 
Hasn’t he or someone previously said you can just press the reader view thing in the URL on your phone (top left) and it gets rid of all the noise.

I just did it. Reads much easier.

You can and I do, but it still feels dirty giving them the clicks they are so desperately craving to sell even more ads.
 
The state of that site says everything about the modern journalism working conditions and nothing about Gold as a journalist imo.

I have watched his videos, but only rarely, find them too long. But some like them, seems like a good addition for some.

Most of what he reports gets more or less instantly shortened and reported elsewhere if one wants the cliff notes. Perfectly available if that's what one prefers, but again part of the wider problem with journalism these days, and again that's not on Gold at all.
 
My take on Gold is that he clearly has some form of contact at Tottenham and he does get small pieces about team news etc that prove accurate.

But when it comes to transfer info, manager recruitment etc he is no better than the ITKs that are rightly ridiculed on here - he just dresses it up in better language. He usually just mentions players already spoken about in the media, or comes up with the odd left field name that nothing amounts to anyway. Whether he has an amazing source or not, his updates around transfers don’t provide any real value. So if he really is the best inside info we can get, then it just highlights how you might aswell not listen to any of the noise and just wait and see who actually signs. But of course, no one is actually going to do that:D…..

I am genuinely amazed how these guys so consistently break this stuff, they must be really well connected at the club, so grateful they take the time to share
