Ingerlund

I think Hart was good and deserved the reputation he was building, but he has gone backwards and has been poor over the last year or so. His arrogance, which can help a goalkeeper, seems to have become a hindrance. Perhaps a shock to his perception of himself is what can put him back on the right track. He was, though, dropped before, iirc, and that didn't help. Allardyce's plan to include him anyway isn't going to help him.

In some ways a similar thing happened to Paul Robinson. He was deservedly our #1 and England's #1 but then lost form. I'm not sure exactly why, it wasn't arrogance like with Hart, but he never recovered the form.

You maybe right

For me he is typically Emirates Marketing Project, or at least from the past 5 years, a decent enough player who when things are going well will cruise along with the success but when the chips are down he goes missing or does not stand up to the plate. Thats what happens when you are part of a non organic set up like Emirates Marketing Project, you get what you pay for and sometimes less...

It makes me slightly sick in the mouth every time I hear the phrase "Sam Allardyce, England Manager" on the radio but the thought of scum like Terry returning to the team would end what little respect I have for the national set up.

I know just how you feel, it going back to the dark ages. He will be knocking balls the length of the field asking those like Carroll to get their head on it.

I know where you are coming from but I prepared to give Sam some time.
Our lackluster performances under the previous umpteen years has been hardly uplifting - give the guy a chance, I say!

That's it. That one event seem to start his downward spiral. Weird.

Happens a lot with keepers. I think the reason Gomes struggled so much to do the simple was because he made a couple of unfortunate mistakes early on that made him doubt his abilities to just catch it.

Was worth a shed load of points the season we made it into the CL

Watford absolutely love the bloke

ISTR Gomes repeatedly getting knocked, but playing it as though a rugby 15 with sledgehammers had been laying into him, whereas it was just a butterfly trying to beat up a storm in the south China Sea.

He was brave enough, just seemed like he was playing for sympathy

Antonio? Really?

I was convinced Defoe would make the squad. Wheelchair out, he got something right.

Can we withdraw some of our quintet with mystery injuries?

Antonio deserves his place IMO. Unlike LOLcott.

He had already stated Defoe would only get in if everyone else was injured.

We should withdraw as many as possible. The United and Liverpool players will be picked for the starting XI anyway.

Hart
Clyne Jaglielka Stones Shaw
Sterling Dier Drinkwater Lallana
Kane Vardy

Fatty wanted to call up N'Zonzi, but FIFA blocked it because he had played U21 football for France ages ago.

I always thought youth apperances didn't matter?

It would seem that the only way you can swap national allegiance is if at the time you first play at that level you have a choice of countries to represent. In this case, at the time he played for France, that was his only option. His English residency had not been established then, so he could not have elected to play for England. Something like that anyway.
