Ingerlund

It would be overrun by any modern-shaped midfield.

If we're looking to play like Leicester it might work.

Drinkwater is for me the best option we have and his instinct is usually to find Vardy with a ball over the top. Against the better teams, that is actually gonna be one of the best chances we have. We also get to keep Alli central and off of Kane as well.

Agreed. It's a shame that an international team (regardless of perceived standing) has to consider Drinkwater lumping it up to Vardy, but that's about the level of this team IMO

The amount of hate for Spurs players playing for England on social media is ridiculous. I know Kane had a bad game and was greedy tonight but Vardy looked well out of his depth and was lucky with his goal yet everyone is creaming their pants over him.

Its pathetic how much hate people have for us.
Rejoice! It's born of envy.

Harry being extremely greedy so far.

Also I don't understand why he is taking all the free kicks. Why not Alli or Wheelchair.

Actually if you are going to play Vardy then you need a deep lying midfielder who has the ability to hit quick long passes forward to take advantage of Vardys pace on the counter. His club collegue Drinkwater is the man for that. I would like to see a midfield 3 of Dier, Drinkwater and Alli if Vardy is selected.

Because neither has scored a free kick in their lives.
Kane works on his free kick taking in training. Wheelchair works on being able to run inbetween sneaking off for a fag.

Im talking more about the free kicks from out wide. Kane should be in the box getting on the end of free kicks into the box not taking them

England scored from one of his corners. He's doing a job for the team ahead of personal glory there.
For half of this season his job at our corners was to stand right in front of the keeper and stop him coming out to collect it.
He's not gonna score from that. Again selfless.

Would normally agree with Indianspur, you'd want him right there in the thick of it from dead ball situations in order to get on the end of things. But credit to Woy for recognising his ability to float in crosses from corners and free kicks, they were brilliant.

Strangely enough however his direct shots from dead ball situations were mostly cack. Crossed my mind maybe he was a bit too eager to get one over on Vardy thereby allowing that to affect his concentration.

And he dived for the penalty.

Since the Germany game when we looked amazing, we look utter guff now

That and we looked totally knackered

We're very good going forward, but our biggest problem is still not being able to keep the ball as well as the top sides do and our defence is shocking. No way we are getting close to winning it with defenders like Cahill and Stones. Even Walker to be fair leaves something to be desired defensively.

And we're not going to keep the ball if everyone outnumbers us in midfield.

Meanwhile... BBC reports

Emirates Marketing Project midfielder Fabian Delph has a groin strain and will miss England's friendly against Australia on Friday (kick-off 19:45 BST).

Manager Roy Hodgson has told him he will now be on the standby list and will not be in the 23-man squad.

No great loss, an 'injury' to save face perhaps.
