I aint no Sheikh-but lets talk weather

Finally admitted? It ain't stuck forever!!

Nope, but it has been so for a while from what I have read before.
Too much fresh water in melt areas so it doesn't sink far enough down, global water currents too slow so wind currents get stuck and so on.

But I'm no expert on it so will be happy with the heat here :)

The theory I've heard about the melting ice in the arctic relates to the desalination on the water in the northern Atlantic and the gulf stream turns off.

I'm coming o Prague next month so hopefully the weather persists!! :)

It's ok. In Back To The Future 2 when Doc and Marty travel to 2015, they can predict the weather to the second. Only 3 years to go \o/

Should do, just bring a umbrella too as the storms are a pain in the ass if caught without while wandering :D

Optimistic forecasters hope the heavy rain and floods will improve at the weekend, with sunshine and warm weather finally arriving.

Thunder storms and drizzle could give way to bright sunshine and temperatures in the pleasant early 20s going into next week.

The change is understood to be the result of the Atlantic jet stream which acts to separate weather conditions, with sunnier, more settled conditions to the south.

So far, it has been positioned unusually far south for this time of year, explaining why Britain has experienced some of the wettest and coldest conditions on record.

It is now hoped it will move further north this weekend, with more typical summer weather forecast to return to at least the southernmost parts of the country.

Tom Tobler, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, said: "It's looking like a more usual summer pattern with the jet stream further north.

"It looks like southern areas can expect some dryer and warmer weather. It's more like average summer conditions and weather we would expect."

He said there was "no sign" of the jet stream going back south after returning to its more northerly position.

While there is cause for cautious optimism, the official Met Office forecast into the first few weeks of August states: "The south is most likely to see the best of any dry, bright, and at times warm weather, particularly at first.

So far this year, Britain has already experienced two of the wettest months in more than a century, with both April and June breaking rainfall records.

Last month was also the one of the dullest Junes on record, with just 119.2 hours sunshine. It was also the coolest June since 1991, with average temperatures of 12.3C.

Today, almost every region of England is expected to suffer heavy rain, with dark clouds and drizzle until the evening.

=D> Enjoy Northern folk

Lol....no chance they are right!!

Anyway, I'm coming down for the Olympics and will ensure I have lots of London meetings for the forseeable if this transpires!!

East Coast Mainline my friend.....2.15 straight into Kings X......happy days!

People knock the train but compared to a car in the capital it totally sh*ts on it. Plus if you gadget yourself up, even a 3hr journey i don't notice. Catch up on work, emails, reading, music, tv. (and glory glory;))

And lets face it, when in town a drink (or2) is more than a temptation, and if this weather soughts itself out almost compulsory.

Same with us when we catch the train up to town for the theatre or dinner with friends or me when i go for the footie, you never notice the time because of the stuff your doing. Just wish the seats on southern were a little more comfortable, why they got rid of first class i will never know.

Off to Latvia for a month and it is hot out there at the moment so no doubt i will take the crap weather with me. Long time since i seen the sun. But we are planning a winter holiday this year as well and hopefully some place hot in December. I always spent xmas in England or Ireland so this year we thought we would go some place warm.

when you off chich? looks like things may improve from friday onwards.

a mate went to Spain in May for two weeks as the weather had been so poo, he had loads of rainy days but also missed out on that 7/10 day hot spell (seems like ages ago) that has been the total of our summer so far. We had a tan, he didn't!

Also, every day i watch the Tour i want to go to france and never come back.

The weather all over the world is brick.

Tenerife is one of the best climates in teh world and the locals are saying the weather is mental over the past 3-4 years. Still warm but alot more cloudy that it used to be.

At the moment the weather is very hot though, these kind of highs are very unusual!!

We have internet out there but like to have family time, so by the time i return we shall be top of the league and townsend will be player of the month for August.

Need to find a nice place that is warm and there is lots to do in December.

I love France as well, just a shame there are so many fudging french in there.

Canaries mate.

Great for cycling, paragliding, all watersports.......the idea that it's all about Las Americas couldn't be further from the truth!

But you also have Loro Parque and the waterparks for the kids......I love the place.
