I aint no Sheikh-but lets talk weather

As I suspected, the Met Office have now just issued a Red Warning for the SW.

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/

Very rare to see a Red for rain; usually issued for snow or damaging gales. But 100m (4in) in 24hrs is exceptional stuff; Plymouth, Torquay, Exeter - all due for a fair ol' lashing.

Quite remarkable how wet it's been this spring/summer; ties in with the abnormal winters we've had of the last 3yrs now. Not enough to suggest a step-change, but it's reasonable to question as to whether we're seeing a realignment of sorts, in terms of seasonal trends. We've had extreme cold, now extreme rain, windier than normal...what we're missing, is extreme heat! :D

Torrential rain this morning in Essex, It woke me up at 6am and is constant since, ridiculously heavy..

Reading yesterday the whole of July is going to be the same, tremendous..

Who can possibly be on Sheikhs level!! :) I fd A level Geography and have alway loved meteorology do I know more than most. There are a number of uk weather forums and I do the rounds to see if there is a consensus. I also work with a guy who used to work for the net office and he knows what he's on about. Of course, it's all guess work, albeit educated.

Climatology is mind bogglingly complex. The 1-5 day forecasts are very good these days. Anything longer than that forget it.

This weather is starting to fudging grate now, another day of constant torrential rain, where is it all coming from, seriously !!!!

Every day on the fudging dot at 9am, 1pm and 6pm you can guarantee it fudging drills it down

10 weeks of almost solid rain now, is it ever going to end !!!!!

We got flooded a few weeks back and it tinkled me right off, takes longer then you would imagine to sort out. Garden is ruined, will have to change my user name soon i think.

Nothing is growing, literally nothing is getting there because it needs some sun, with all this rain i expect the apples to taste awful in autumn.

They have finally admitted that it is stuck then?

Hmm so they have, but I see they do not want to guess why it is yet..
