HRH Queenie

that's right kids, if you try your best, you too could be King or Queen one day.

Show Prince William what he's missing round the back of the dub tent at Glastonbury and become a modern Piers Gaveston. Every Etonian's greatest ambition.

respectfully disagree, don't understand this view. She (and the other family members) are born into privelege and told from a young age you're better than the rest. She didn't have to 'think about how you say things' becuase from a young age she's been brought up to know how to do it. She eats the finest food, from the finest produce, travels wherever and whenever by modes not afforded to anyone else. I just don't get the "she's worked tirelessly for the country" shtick.

How? 3 course breakfast, lunch, dinner, then taking a private jet to somewhere, say hello and then a couple more 3 course breakfast, lunch and dinners. And then head back home, go to one of your castles, have friends or family come visit. And all whilst receiving millions in income, i mean, sure she's working, but she's not done it for free.

Cant help but feel the rose tinted glasses when it comes to the Monarchy, which isn't surprising given it's force fed down our throats daily that these beings are better than us and above reproach. But again, the talk of them doing this charitable work is completely disingenuous.

I can certainly understand that view as well. But I know for myself I'd rather live a normal life with little luxuries rather than be the main protagonist in that royal play they're doing. I can certainly see how being a fringe royal can be nice - but to be the main person for 70 years - fudge no!

What type of era do Britons expect from King Charles?

Serious answer:

Slightly more political, specifically on the green agenda - anti fracking, anti-poor quality high-density housing (see the Poundbury project) etc.

I think his biggest innovation will be becoming Defender of the Faiths (plural) instead of Faith (singular), to reconcile that he's a closet Greek Orthodox.

Im absolutely no royalist but the idea people could just pick it up and run with it just because there is money involved is equally ridiculous as is the notion its just three course meals and bed.

Like I said earlier most on here and social media cry their eyes out if someone does not rate the same footballer as they do and yet they would have you believe they would lead this dedicated life of 500 engagements a year, one of boredom and monotony whilst the press and portion of the public call you and your family a bunch of bunch of w$nkers every day. For me most, including myself could not and would not want to do it if we were being honest

I'm going to be seriously tinkled off if they go through with this. When will the games be played? There's an opening over Christmas I guess after they decided to ease up on the hectic schedule there.

No respect for the fans having made arrangements. Not that it makes a difference but I will be fuming if the football is called off this weekend - No games on the day of the funeral, fine I can just about get my head around that one.

For those people consumed by grief (especially the Instagram-able version), don't go to / watch the football, mourn however you see fit. For the rest of us it'd be nice to be able to carry on with our lives.

She's the pinnacle of the class system. Gives everyone else something to aspire to.

This country's moved a long way from important principles such as a stiff upper lip and "Never complain, never explain" etc. Imagine what clams the latest generation would be without her being a guiding force to mitigate that.

I worked with a woman who cried and wore black for a week when jade goody died. Glad she never found out it was me who printed of the porno pictures of goody being done by a horse.

Heard a constitutional expert on the radio this morning saying that this idea was quietly dropped some time ago and he will pledge to remain Defender of THE faith.

Like Camilla was never going to be queen? Until it becomes time to change that.

To me it would be a positive modernising sign, especially in a country where Islam is probably actively practiced more widely now than Anglicanism.
