Harry Kane MBE

To be honest i hope City come up with the price we want, i would have never blamed him for wanting to leave for another club to win things but his actions over the last few days has ( imo) made a mockery of his reputation as " one of our own">

Lets get the money and spend it on players who WANT to play for our great club.

I do blame players who do that, it’s a team sport, the sentiment that teammates are holding one back shows a failure of character.

Agree, let’s sell and replace with someone fully committed.

You and I are on the same wavelength my good man

I think he is professional enough to fight for his place. There really aren't many footballer that "want" to play for a club.

He has to be on the bench or less for the start of the season though.
Although.....it is VERY TEMPTING to play him Vs City :D

The club not really saying anything this week has paid off there, he’s been given enough rope and he’s hung himself with it.

Whatever he hoped that statement would achieve, it’s missed by a mile.

Charlie Kane is playing drafts and Dsniel Levy is playing 3D chess

He has faled to turn up in 4 Cup finals for us and he would probably alao fail to turn up against Emirates Marketing Project

As i have said on here many times i have no problem with wanting to leave to win things, but there are right ways to do that and he has not done that. After all he is " supposed "to be one of our own and yet refuses to turn up when he should do.

A match-winning hat-trick might help build a few bridges...

I kind of don't mind it.
Let's not dismiss the impact of the gutter press in whipping something up here.
Let's not also not dismiss the murky footballing world and numerous bad actors.
The statement is in line with his attitude to professionalism.
He has probably been screwed over by the business process:
Man C tell Charlie "this is the summer for the big move, we need you gently twist Spurs wrist".
City then try to massively underbid Levy - silly game.
Levy has told a decent offer, circa £160m, is a position we can work with.
City bottle it after getting low balled and instead go for the current flavour of the month, sorry "marque signing", Grealish.
Harry is left up brick creek and looking like a fool.

His statement shows me he still wants to go somewhere bigger - that's fair enough.
He's upset at some of the waaay OTT comments - fair enough.
He'll stay professional, including if the move doesn't come off.

That's pretty honest tbh. No trumping.
Compare it to Judas - captain and "spurs through and through".....six months before leaving on free. Can't quite remember where he went in the end.
He hasn't acted one bit professional! Not showing up is anything but professional.
I've got no problems understanding that he wants to go to City, but he has 3 years left on a deal he was only more than happy to sign up for, and should honour that by going to work as normal until there is agreement over a transfer.

Harry's dropped a massive gonad here. Speaks volumes not a single Spurs player backed his Statement on Insta with a like.

Stay or go, glad the "Good Guy Kane" view has been demolished. He's no different to anyone else and now he can stop pretending otherwise too. At least Danny Rose was honest about who he is.

If he stays, great, but we shouldn't sing He's One of our Own anymore. He can go if City pay a number consumerate to his value and to compensate Spurs for next 3 years. If not, that's not our problem Harry

Why are you glad? What a weird thing to be glad about.

So much vitriol on here against a player who has given outstanding service to the club because he has had the temerity to ask to leave.

We all know it is very rare nowadays for any player to go through their entire career playing for one club and until he made his wishes known, practically every poster on here agreed his departure was inevitable.

However these situations always seem to turn nasty whenever our world class players are involved (Berbatov, Modric, Bale and now Kane) but it's hard to ignore the fact that the common denominator in all of this is a certain Daniel Levy.

Not that I blame DL in the slightest, on the contrary I congratulate him for doing what every good chairman should do in putting the interests of the club first. Having said that, we do know that this is likely to drag on to the last day of the window and that alone is likely to have a negative impact on our prospects for the coming season, so Daniel's tactics are not without their costs.

But for my part I have come to terms with the fact that that Kane wants to leave. We have benefitted hugely from his single-minded ambition to become a top striker but it's precisely because of this attribute that he now wants to move on, to have a better chance of winning trophies. He has watched Walker, Trippier and Eriksen all lift silverware as well as doubling their money so who can blame him?

The player is being scorned for going about it the wrong way but let's remember, his expertise lies in putting the ball in the back of the net, not in dealing with shrewd operators like Levy or the piranhas of the media.

So good luck to him if he achieves his move. Much though I despise Emirates Marketing Project and everything they stand for, for his sake alone I hope he succeeds in winning the trophies his talent and dedication richly deserves.

If on the other hand he ends up staying I shall be thrilled. I shall view it like we have just acquired a world class striker.

But either way, the man deserves our respect AND thanks for all he has done for the club. To deny him that because he has been out of his depth in handling his move would in my mind be small-minded.
