Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Agreed, even if something were to derail the Bale transfer at this stage, if we accept the premise that he would be gone next summer anyway, then it wouldn't make sense to pass up Lamela now.

Re: Gareth Bale

I'd assume they might be dragging their heels on the price trying to lower it by making us sound bad.

****ging Spurs off at every opportunity is hardly likely to reduce the fee though, is it? The opposite, I'd have thought.

Re: Gareth Bale

At this point, I am almost wanting this to fall through as much to smite those bastards the mightiest of blows (don't **** with us!) as to keep Bale...whatever happens, Levy has given a masterclass in not being pushed around...

I see what you mean but I just can't see a way back for Bale at this point. I know Tevez apologised to everyone at Emirates Marketing Project, but he wasn't the same player.

Re: Gareth Bale

I would love it if we could retain Bale. A matchwinning performance against the gooners will smooth over all of this turmoil. One more season would be epic.

Re: Gareth Bale

This again?

Get over it and move on.

Sell him - its a new dawn and a new era for spurs. Jeez.

Re: Gareth Bale

So you wouldnt want him if the deal fell through? Why let your emotions get in the way of a world class player at the club

Re: Gareth Bale

Obviously everyone is sick to death of the Bale saga. But if we dont send out a strong statement now how will you feel in 3 - 4 years when the Lamela saga is everywhere and RM are using the same tactics that landed Bale.

Gareth Bale: Real Madrid agree personal terms with Spurs forward

Gareth Bale has agreed personal terms at Real Madrid ahead of his world record move from Tottenham.

However, the Spanish giants are still in discussions over the fee with a bid of £86m already submitted to Spurs.

"While discussions in Madrid have taken some days, it's important to stress this was always a formality," says BBC chief sports correspondent Dan Roan.

"The agreement over personal terms has no bearing on the timing of the actual transfer being announced."

In addition to the world record offer, Real have also submitted an alternative bid of close to £70m, which would be a one-off payment for the 24-year-old Wales forward.

"The conclusion of the talks over personal terms separate from negotiations between Real Madrid and Spurs regarding the amount and structuring of a transfer fee," Roan added.

"All that remains now is for Spurs to formally accept Real Madrid's offer and to agree on simultaneous announcements."

More to follow.

Re: Gareth Bale

From what I have been told, there is more chance of Bale still bring at Tottenham on the 3rd.

Real simply can not afford what Tottenham are asking.

As I said before, the media sound bite from Real are to try and get the Fee down and pressure Tottenham into selling. It also tries to focus the embarrassment away from them.

But, it has back fired spectacularly. Also, the other potential signing are not affected whether Bale stays or go's.

What will be interesting is how Gareth will conduct himself. I don't think you will see another Tevez situation but it won't be rosy.

Plus it was also mentioned that some of Gareth's immediat family are not happy about the move to Real.

It will be very interesting reading in the press tomorrow morning.

Possibly early tonight!

Enjoy.

Re: Gareth Bale

Now that Lamela is official I think it's safe to say - bye, bye, Gareth! Thanks for the contribution!

No I wouldnt want him. Its not emotions its sense. Im not really stuck in the past - if its not this year its next summer so may as well just deal with it and move on. Instead we are just acting like a bunch of love sick puppies whose girlfriend wants to be with someone else yet we are being all sentimental and ****.

I can see how our team and players are changing and im happy with that and as a result we are more of a complete team rather than our one man band last season.

As a result of this the media will focus on us as a team. I am seeing the goods and the advantages.
