Bale best not be sold on August 31st. If he's going, I want him gone before the start of August. That way we can bring in new signings before the end of July and will have 2 weeks for our new look squad to train together PLUS selling Bale after securing the other signings would make business sense as players could be signed for potentially lower values than if clubs know we have £85m+ burning a hole in our pockets.

That'd be up there with the deadline day where we were waiting for Giuseppe Rossi, then come 10:30pm we hear that we've agreed a deal to sign Charlie Adam.

I dont know what the repercussions are - do you or anyone else know? If it is considered and proven to be tapping up (How do you prove its tapping up?). Putting any bias to one side, even a biased view I dont think its tapping up as such, all they did was talk to the media - by the strict rules? it doesnt seem to be tapping up. by spirit of the rules? it could be.

Am I right in thinking there was some kind of punishment on Mourinho/Chelsea with Ashley Cole? Maybe I'm totally off base here I can't remember.

Where did you read that ? We don't even have to report. Just come out with a statement warning other clubs that we will report them if they try to tap our players and manager. The continued silence from the club and Levy in this matter is really annoying.

Once Bale comes back from his holiday he can come straight out and say he is staying at Spurs. If he don't then take the 100m and upgrade our squad.
