Well if they aren't wrong, Modric must be a Chelsea player now. Odd how he didn't play for them last season.

If you can find me an article where they state that Modric is unequivocally joining Chelsea then I'll say they were wrong. All I remember from that saga was them reporting Chelsea's latest offers - which did happen as we've had it confirmed by Modric, Modric's agent, Daniel Levy and Harry Redknapp.

Fair. I can't be bothered, they have been linked with him again this summer and that would be a lot of trawling through articles.

Levy needs to come out and say as a matter of fact that Bale is not for sale at any price. Bale needs to come out and say he will be playing for Spurs next season. Irrespective of whether there is any truth in the rumours I am not sure that potential incoming targets will like the speculation. Even Gary Lineker admitted that he wouldn't have signed for us had he known that Waddle was being sold.

Agreed. Both Levy and Bale should come out and comment about all the speculations. It is really unsettling for the fans reading about all the rumours about Bale now. I am sure all the current and potential future players are affected by the rumours about Bale as well.

That would be great if it happened obviously, but I don't see where "need to" comes into the picture.

Bale will obviously do what is best for Bale. I'm fine with the comments he's made so far and how he's behaved, I don't really see how it's fair to be asking for even more.

Levy needs to be honest with us imo. If he felt there was no chance that Bale would be sold a comment like that would make sense, but unless he's absolutely sure he shouldn't say something like that.
