So at present we’ve got a manager who wants to go back to Italy and a DoF who might be banned from worldwide football. Triffic!

In modern terms, thats not too bad TBH, Chelsea had an owner embargoed, got a new owner, spent 450m and are 10th......

Man United have spent more than any club in the history of the PL recently and have finished in the top 4, 4 times since their last championship....

As much as we are a mess, based on Arsenal fans wanting owners and manager out last season, Pep crying about fans, Klopp crying about fixtures and the rest of it all.....we are pretty normal

Bin him.
We cannot have this lurking.
I was shocked to learn he was only 50!

There's an appeals process? I think of he loses that his position here becomes untenable.

Perhaps sooner too, but that probably depends on what goes on behind the scenes. Don't think he will go before the transfer window closes at the very least.

Getting rid of someone for something that's still under appeal is murky I think. But we can't have this hanging over us until the summer. Difficult times. He was supposed to bring some stability. Uncertainty about him and Conte at the same time definitely causes problems.

You should be banned for illegally talking sense on here.

I think the highest sports jurisdiction is the Court of Arbitration for Sports. He could go all the way and buy himself a couple of years in procedures but they tend to confirm most decisions these days, unless there's a blatant miscarriage of justice. Best thing to do for him now is to take a long vacation. Two and a half years is a very long time in football. I'm pretty sure he'll find a club willing to welcome him with open arms then.

Difficult to disagree with. But he may disagree himself, then it's up to the club. Who knows what we'll do.

Guess there will be some clarity in the coming months. Can just hope our January business isn't influenced too much by this.

Too much sense in that for some.

The debate has been done to death, but forgetting about where we were in the league at the time, and the fact our results had been awful for almost a whole calendar year….It was the state of Poch himself that probably meant it was the right time for him to go. He was coming out with more and more ridiculous things in his press conferences and just did not seem to have the same personna any longer. A change in direction, or more specifically a break was needed for Poch which in effect meant it was no longer tenable for him to remain. I don’t see how that could be argued tbh, it was a tough watch on the pitch in his final days but even tougher watching Poch become a shadow of himself…..

It seemed like a relief to everyone involved at the club (Not including supporters in that) and Poch himself when we parted ways. It was very amicable by all accounts and Levy and Poch have remained in touch.

I think Poch was happy enough to be released, he’d almost been angling at it for sometime. He was spent by the end, poor bloke. I’ve always said a years sabbatical would have been great, but that is obviously completely unrealistic and unworkable.

He was drained
Mentally and physically

Ah not this 14th place BS again

Like anything there is a huge lack of context when people talk about that, take into account the fact Poch pretty much carried the club during its 2/3 year upheaval of leaving WHL, time at wembley and the delays and uncertainty to returning back to the stadium, I find people often discount how well he did to maintain a status quo with results and performances with those changes, until the end, when yeh results suffered but with that and the CL distraction, you can kind of understand it. People like to add up two seasons for stats sake but ultimately his last season for us read 4th and a CL runners up place....

Plus as I think we both agree, the 14th place BS does not really tell a full story, we were 4 points off 5th and I think people ignore the fact we played City, Arsenal and Liverpool had a ridiculous decision to overturn a goal at Leics for 2-0 when we were slaughtering them and a 97th min Everton equaliser, but the run of results were never a bad as made out. We could argue all day about the stress and strain but he had more cash in the bank for me and especially not to be sacked for Joseball

And ultimately, as I have said before, his comments to Lineker were proven right then and remain true to today, so its hard to argue that someone that understood the culture at Spurs more than anyone was not the right man to take us forward even if it meant a year to regroup
