Euro 2016 Group B - England, Russia, Slovakia, Wales

Not clinical enough tonight, really good first half but Sterling has no form or confidence and the Milner sub really backfired.

We can take a lot of positives, but at this level you have to take your chances and failing to do so has now really opened up the group.
 
Pity we could not hang on to the win at the end, however its the best England performance ( tournament) i have seen for a long while. Everyone did their job however i would have bought Sturridge on for Kane ( he was not on his game at all tonight).
 
A couple of times Sterling was clear but did not cross the defender behind him, allowing that defender a direct route to an interception. Crosing defender approaching the box gains time and then any tackle is from behind and IN the box.
 
If Dier is the 8th Spurs player to score for England in a major tournament, it could be a maximum of 12 by the end of Euro 2016?
 
I thought it was a decent game, but after 70 mins we looked out of ideas and tired. Kane was off the pace.
 
Yeah Harold has been flogged by England and Spurs almost 2 years. He shouldn't have gone to the under 21 champs last summer and we should have signed an adequate back up for him last summer to give him a rest once in a while during the season.

He himself needs to tell Woy to fcuk orf and get another free kick taker and maybe the manager needs to think about playing Vardy or Sturridge alongside him.

Apparently there is a stat tonight that Harold didn't have one single touch in the Russian penalty area all night. That's just ridiculous.

Should have been done earlier on in his career tbh. Think Fergie missed a trick there. Tried to make him a striker when he could have played the Gazza role. Glad to see him pushed back now.

On the post match on ESPN Bob Ley asked the question whether the presence of so many Spurs players in the England squad was the reason for the last minute collapse. In other words, whether the S.pursy result was due to the Spurs players. fudge off.
 
so england haven't won their opening game in the last 9 euro tourneys, wales haven't played in any tourney for 60 years and they win, "go figure"
