he's more of a goal getter than willian. quite different players if you think about it that way.

i think the squad is more balanced with lamela if we had to choose one. lamela to complete our striker collection.

Well I've never seen this guy play.

But I'm putting my faith in;

A) the fact that the club are obviously pushing hard and willing to pay a lot for this guy. I actually really do trust Baldini and AVB when it comes to picking talent.

B) All the people on here saying how great he is.

C) The lack of people on here saying he is ****. It seems theres 2 camps. Those who say he's great and those (like me) who just haven't seen enough or any of him to judge.

Also what interested me was that Guillem Balague said Bale to Madrid next Monday or Tuesday... Lamela medical/confirmation is next Monday/Tuesday apparently so maybe a double announcement?

Right of a 4-3-3 works perfectly. He's up closest to Soldado and whichever three of Sandro, Paulinho, Capoue and Dembele play as the CMs largely release him from his defensive duties. He's an inside forward, rather than a winger, if you like.

Still need another wide man/inside forward/no 10 in addition to Lamela if we're going to progress

there will no doubt be someone out in the Brazilian league that will be close to Willian in style. It's just if Baldini knows about them, can get a bid in for them, complete a deal and work permit issues etc before the transfer window ends.. I'd be surprised.

Hunter and windBagallue said last Tuesday that the Bale deal would be wrapped up Thursady and expected it to be confirmed on Friday so....

Maybe we were going to announce once Willian had signed? Then we all know what happened which is why the "levy furious and could pull plug on Bale deal" headlines hit.

Up to £30m burning a hole in our pocket might help lubricate things.

Or we just tell Madrid they'll have to wait till January for Bale now.
