It's because he's not a show pony, is not trying to hog the limelight, and we can tell that he is just a good bloke. To be fair, we've always loved our grafters as well.

Tbf we've always loved a good hard man, Mackay, Nutty naylor, Roberts, Ruddock.

Dier has been an absolute revelation this season.

I wonder if there was more to his injury against Monaco than we thought, I haven't seen him play so poorly all season. Maybe if Demebele was fit he wouldn't of played,or maybe it was just a bad day at the office to remind us he's not superhuman....
