ENIC

Could it just be a shift of teh deckchairs and change of title? Could Vinai actually be replacing Munn?
Yeh likely this, never replaced Klein from memory and this guy has a very savvy commercial record.

According to someone who I respect on all this the goal apparently has always been to have a split of operation, someone overseeing the football operation and someone more commercial on that side.

People keeping mentioning Fab but he was always only at the level Lange is at within the structure as it sits now. IF Fab does come back "officially" because again he never really left, he will do so within the structure as is now but just a formalisation of his consultancy role.

Yes that is his prerogative (well Lewis' family trust's prerogative). I don't think Spurs can carry much more debt than we are already carrying though. Certainly not anything like £1b.

And newsflash for you.... He doesn't give a fudge about us anyway, only the valuation of the asset he owns 30% of.
@Finney Is Back - you have usually been a reasoned poster, and obviously have first hand knowledge of the investment community and the workings of a boardroom, and your views on Levy (and by extension ENIC) have been interesting to hear over the years but over the last 12-18 months your tone/stance has really changed. Regardless of whether you think Levy is doing a bad job and should be replaced, I can’t agree that he is only interested in the value of his investment. I truly believe everything he does is intended to be for the benefit of the football club - unfortunately he has got it wrong on many occasions but I believe the intention is right even if the execution has not worked out. That doesn’t mean he gets a free pass for eternity and hopefully this new appointment will help us make the step up that we need. But I want Levy to be in the background as executive chairman as when we do achieve success - and we will - he will have played a big part in getting us to that point, even if not getting us over the line.

From grok ai:

Outside football, Venkatesham worked on the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, earning an OBE for services to sport in 2024. He’s a non-executive director of the British Olympic Association and chairs Wembley Stadium’s advisory board. Previously, he was involved with the European Club Association, working alongside Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, which likely paved the way for this move. An Oxford-educated management accountant, he’s known for his expertise in sporting and commercial operations.

Sounds cool to me. Grok also picked up that some Arsenal fans see this as a "reverse sol campbell" betrayal. Lmao.

You are smarter than I and definitely more savvy about finances at this kind of level.

But my take on it would be, if the club is valued at Circa £4billion.

With healthy profits coming from multiple revenue streams, I think banks and institutions would be falling over themselves to lend at anything close to 40%LTV

But my world is this small (imagine something very small… not that… something else :)

And finance at this kind of level is above my pay grade.

I think you are wrong I think he does care. Otherwise why would he keep going to matches?

Why would he make (clumsy) appearances on the Amazon doc showing how he was trying to convince Erickson to stay. Why would he fight so hard to keep our best players rather than flipping them for a healthy profit. Why hasn’t he take dividends? Borrowed against spurs to enrich him self? These are all the thing someone who doesn’t care would do.

Sure, he can then start taking dividends or Maybe, Maybe re-leverage spurs take a huge chunk of value out of the club—- let’s say a £Billion and saddle the club with paying that off.

That’s his prerogative right?

The fans don’t give a fúck about him, so why should he give a fùck about us.

Quite strange how/why so many back Levy over the club itself.

Companies often get to the point that they need a change at the top. I think this point was reached a few years ago at THFC

He is announced as CEO…. The top job.

I suspect Munn will depart (I hope so).

If THFC added £1b of debt, we’d have total net interest costs of well over £100m, wiping out most of our EBITDA. Total net debt would also be well over 3 times turnover.

£1b of additional debt loaded onto Spurs would probably actually reduce the asset valuation by more than £1b.

Re: dividends…. He can’t take then unless Lewis agrees, same for borrowing against the club (and see above re: that reducing the value of the asset anyway)

With Paratici seemingly coming back (in the Directors' box again last night), there doesn't seem to be a role left for Munn. He really needs to fall on his sword for the Ange fiasco.
Wasn't in the directors box - he's never in the directors box. He is always at all home games.

BTW he never really left.

That may be the case. But it does not mean Levy”s only interest is the value of his investment.
Sure, but his work will have given him a massive ROI. He’s smart enough to know how to grow his own fortune. So when he talks about his interest is solely on growing the club, I think lining his pockets with his astronomical salary and future exit goals he would have struck gold on the back of one carling cup. Why leave? Why change? He’s a business man not a saint.
