Bro the board did not care when they sold Berbatov and Keane in the same window and replaced them with Frazier Campbell. The board didn't care when they sold Modric and replaced him with.... The board didn't care when they sold Bale, they didn't care when they sold Carrick etc etc fudging etc.

We weren't finished building in that era, that's why we never actually won anything. We needed to continue building and if the money wasn't there to go out and directly add players then you need to be smart use your resources and assets to continue building to the top. Again I'll say it again and again why can other clubs do it, why was it impossible for us to do it?

The answer is it wasn't. We just didn't have the nous to work that way. We saw the Hitchens say "I hate the January window" he was out of his depth and wouldn't know how to operate at a high level.
