If THFC added £1b of debt, we’d have total net interest costs of well over £100m, wiping out most of our EBITDA. Total net debt would also be well over 3 times turnover.

£1b of additional debt loaded onto Spurs would probably actually reduce the asset valuation by more than £1b.

Re: dividends…. He can’t take then unless Lewis agrees, same for borrowing against the club (and see above re: that reducing the value of the asset anyway)

Not saying we'd get more loans or anything. But isn't some of our debt liabilities? Such as season tickets sold, but we haven't yet played the games. So is considered debt? It's not actually money we have to pay out just obligations we have to fulfill.

I don't think we can ever accuse Levy of not spending money
It's how we've spent it, or in Poch's case we didn't spend any for 2 years when we was almost top of the tree

Sliding doors moment, I wonder where we would be now if Levy had backed Poch with 2/3 worldies to go into the amazing squad we had

Yep, this is where I am with it. People will now mention wages (like they did net spend) and although there is some truth in it, you don't spend what we have in fees and claim we don't spend money, because we clearly do. The issues have come with 1 - flip flopping of strategy, Focus on youth like we did with success pre Poch with cross over to Poch, Modric, Bale, Verts, Alli, Walker etc etc etc, to then thinking we made it making bolder bad buys, to now back to youth focus 2 - making terrible judgement in the market which clogged the squad and harmed the team, I know as well as many that all transfers are a risk, but we had some really blunt years with who we decided to buy

I dont think that team didnt need worldies. The first 11 could beat any team on the planet. It was not having enough depth - a handful of better backup players - that cost us those two league titles and a CL

And a mentality shift somewhere … not sure where
Plus new voices on the bench.
That team had a quarter of the players wc semis

Sticking to a plan of recruitment would help, I think the youth with new ears and enthusiasm, less scars is the way forward. We desperately though IMO need a mentality shifting 6 in the middle who can enforce and drive the team on. Go out and get a Wharton at 6 at any cost and I think that shows intent, solves one of the major issues and provides someone with Gray who I believe is a future leader to become the most promising CM in the league.

New voices and new ears, we have gone part the way there, we can Dream ey

Wharton is a dream signing for me because he has all the tools
He also seems to have the head for it
I’d love a summer where it’s the time we buy the stardust
Not sure it will be the case though with the financials
Still think we can bring in decent money to help this summer
If you trade out richarlison for delap or David (similar cash outlays) we would be better
Bissouma, hojberg and gil leave and we use that money for Wharton … maybe
We sign a free transfer full back like KWP or Mitchell
I know we still like angel gomes
We can be brave and sell Romero (I don’t think anyone will buy him for the fee we want) and replace him with Tapsoba with money in the bank or even the young lad in Portugal (can’t remember his name)
Not sure who or what we do about wingers. That’s an area of challenge. We have young players to grow there but not enough for now

If IMO we went smart, got Wharton & Mbeumo & Delap and tinkered (I agree on Mitchell, I believe he is a high class FB), that would represent a bumper summer. As I say we can dream, but thats the kind of summer we now need IMO

Id go for eze who I think is a spurs player
I do like Mbuemo. Said it a few years back when I was stunned at his age
Would need some smart trading

I think we have room for smart trading, I would offload Son and give him his money moment in the US or the like, Bissouma, Richy if it was possible. As Elvis said................If I can dream

The last part is what has been a huge issue
The return on investment on a lot of signings has been so so bad
No silverware and stealing the wages basically
That seems to have changed
We would, imo, make our money back or a profit on all the signings we have made in the last 2/3 years (not sure when we brought the man child Gil)

I think if we are to really to have the funds to go for 3 costly signings in the summer, Romero would have to be sold.

Although winning the EL and qualifying for the CL would potentially change that conversation.
