ENIC

What have you made of the failed protests that have attempted?

Same thing I did the last time they were attempted mate. It's a good start, needs growing, and a bit more tactical thinking.

Like, for instance, holding the protest after the game instead of before, so you can take advantage of the anger around being battered 6-3 at home.

Little things like that to improve the optics. But they're just starting out, so just happy they're out there.

There was no anger after the wolves game
Barely even a murmur
As I’ve said before, the people who try to organise these things just fail because they just get the wrong crowd

TBF they were going under with the previous owners

But then it changed and things got better.

ENIC have achieved great things off the pitch. It’s pretty clear, though, that the height of their ambition on the pitch is to have the stadium full for each home game (and for as many other other events as possible) and for them to further maximise revenue by being in European competition as often as possible.

I’d like to see a bit more ambition than that as a supporter, so am hoping they’ll sell in the not too distant future.

Not arguing with any of that
But anyone buying us is paying a premium that means they would have to either stupid or mega rich to throw more money at it
Buying pool for £200m or whatever it was is different to buying us for £2.5B with the debt
It’s perfection the way clubs are valued

Just everyone realises the alternatives will likely be much worse (see United).

Because we’re doing so well right now. It’s as if people think we’re immune from getting relegated, not saying that is likely at all but what’s the absolute worst that would happen if we got new owners? Even if we did go down, Leeds came back up eventually as did Forest.

Leeds came back up and went straight back down again.
It's not what happens on the pitch that is worrying, that could be the least of our problems.
Have any of these buy outs worked first time around?
City, Liverpool, villa, forest, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and I think even Leicester all had dodgy "wealthy" buyers.

I find it strange that the people who say ENIC are only in it for the money trust them enough to sell to a reputable entity and not just take the money and and run.
I mean, that's all they care about it isn't it, they'll have the dosh, what do they care what happens afterwards.

We've already had our first buyout ENIC so that part is satisfied already.

I’m not sure winning is the priority rather than saying they’re only it in for the money.

Thea re an investment company
So I think assuming they are only in it for the money is sensible
Doesn’t mean another only wouldn’t be either
We don’t know as there isn’t the option

I think their interests align with ours up to a certain point, if we are successful then it makes the club more profitable and raises our profile which makes ENIC richer. I just question whether their model can get us over the line. And we’ve seen they are not willing to do certain things like have a higher percentage of revenue spent on wages for example. Not sure we can truly compete on a consistent basis with the big boys unless we close the gap in that area.
