Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Re: Adebayor on the brink, The Sun at it again...

With Defoe being in such a goal scoring form, don't think Adebayor have reason to complain. Adebayor should try to score a goal or two when coming on as a sub first. He wasted a golden chance to score our third goal against Chelsea.

Totally. Defoe is currently earning his place in the team, maybe Dempsey's place should be more under threat so that we have Ade and Defoe as a front two

Defoe has 5 goals and 2 assists in 8 matches. That is a great return for any strikers. Don't think AVB likes to start 2 strikers. So, this means Defoe who is in great form will always have to start.

its either starting with two strikers or continuing to start and play games with ten men. I would rather have 11 players

I think he does, but Ade's bigger and quicker.

It's about the whole team though, we're not as good a possession team now as Swansea were last season, Siggy and Dmepsey just can't get involved enough so I agree with DHSF that we should go with Ade and Defoe for a while.

i agree with the possesion thing which invariable plays a big part in the effectiveness of playesr like siggy and dempsey

but graham is not a back to defenders type player. he isnt a central hold up player.....infact he plays on the last line. or so i thought, now i'm starting to doubt myself

Apparently ( Daily Star ) Adebayor has changed his mind and will now play for Togo in the ANC, I know its the Daily Star but I wonder if true has this soured things a little.

He has been playing for them in the qualifying, so it's not exactly surprising he'd want to play in the finals.

"Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who retired from international football over safety fears, says he will play for Togo in January's Africa Cup of Nations."

Must be rehashed news.

This is what wiki says:

On 12 April, Togo captain Emmanuel Adebayor announced his retirement from international football, stating that he was "still haunted by the events I witnessed on that horrible afternoon."[48]

Adebeyor subsequently returned to international duty in November 2011 following assurances from the Togo Football Federation regarding safety,[49] making his comeback in a 1–0 win over Guinea-Bissau in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.[50]

but danny graham plays nothing like adebayor

My point was that I imagine a better rapport between Ade and Siggy than Defoe and Siggy. I like Defoe but lets be honest he's greedy and invariably shoots if he's anywhere near the goal. Ade is better at linking play in my opinion, and this would better serve Siggy's game, and probably Dempsey for that matter.

I cant really comment on whether Ade is like Graham or not. I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion on that.

I have been duped ! thanks for the correct info, that story was quoted by the BBC as being in todays Star, proof if needed about what a load of tosh the media is.

Going round twitter that he has stormed out of training this morning after having a meeting and row with AVB..

In further unreliable reports, according to the Stupour Stiraway Sun (according to the BBC gossip page) he's on the verge of quitting the club.
