Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Re: Does AVB Rate Bad Ade?

donch know if avb hates or likes ade.
just know that ade isn't fit and reportedly hamstrung.
ade was last seasons top scorer. pretty sure avb knows that despites defoes scoring for club and country.

Re: Does AVB Rate Bad Ade?

I think AVB has strong ethics and he stands by them. If he feels a player is performing well then he will not just drop them. It seems as though he's saying to the players that if they perform they will keep their place regardless of who is waiting to come back in. Parker might be sitting out for a while.

Friend of mine was in a box on Sunday at the match and Martin Chivers told him that Adebayor told AVB that he didnt want to play in the Europa League (why did you sign for us then you doughnut?). We are meant to believe that he is currently injured but it might be that AVB doesnt want him in the side at the moment due to his attitude. Obviously if this is correct then that is shocking.

Be interesting to see if Adebayor plays him in the Cup tomorrow night as we need to give Defoe a rest.

Is AVB any good at football? how is he gonna play better than Defoe?

and i dont think that the information is correct, why wouldnt adebayor want to play against lazio?

ive heard Ade is refusing to play any games

wont get out of bed for less than 175k a week apparently

My mate met an extra from Hollyoaks, whose aunty bought a goldfish from a bloke who twice cut the hair of the body double of Neil Morrisey in 1997.

He said that this is true as well

To be fair though he is good mates with Benny and we know he doesn't have any respect for the Europa League. I doubt our players do in general. Fans like it as it offers a chance of silverware but, to players it's almost like saying you are second tier. Look at the half arsed performances by City and Utd last season. Whether this information is from a valid source or not I suspect it has some truth, but it would be the same for most players at clubs with top 4 ambitions. Fans wont accept it and will probably try and deny it, but it just isn't a competition that excites players. If we played in an easier league then it would probably mean more to the players, but a top 4 spot in the Prem is just so incredibly tough, both mentally and physically, it must be hard to excited by the Europa league.

VdV seemed pretty gutted to be missing out last season when he wasn't included in the squad and the players at A.Madrid obviously saw it as a worthwhile competition despite many of them being out of our reach.

Emirates Marketing Project and Man United were both in the hunt for the title last season so i can see why they were not be overly up for it but we are not in the hunt for the title and any player who thinks they are above this competition won't be getting my support on the matter (not that i believe it)

Whilst I think this is journo rubbish it should just be 'you have a contract. I don't care what you want or don't want, get out there and do your job'. Wages etc should be linked to appearances and performances. Effing prima donna billy big boot footballers.

There are always exceptions, but there is no point trying to convince ourselves the competition hold much allure for players with CL ambitions. Certainly not in this country anyway. The reward just aren't good enough. You need to play 6 games just to get out of the group stage. You can win the FA Cup in that amount of games.

UEFA need to sort it out. Either scrap the competition and expand the CL or at least give the winners a place in the CL. At the moment it's just very much a second tier European competition and for winning it you don't even gain a place in the top competition.

Also, if you look at Athletico's results last season in the games after Europa League fixtures, they played 14 and only won 17 points. That is 1.2 ppg, as opposed to 1.6 ppg in their other fixtures. That is a big difference, especially seeing as they missed out on the CL by 2 points. No one can say for sure, but it's highly likely they missed out on a CL spot because of it.

That's quite old - did anyone else see the advertisments in Greece last night?

Power Horse for Adebayor - would make an excellent username

AVB expecting big things from Ade!

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football...dre-Villas-Boas-in-plea-to-Emmanuel-Adebayor/

Adebayor struck 18 goals to help Spurs *finish fourth and Villas-Boas wants to see the same again.

He said: “He was one of the most *important players last season. As soon as we can get him back on track *fitness-wise, he’ll be massive for us.
“Having him back will be a boost. He’s a goalscorer. If he is to go back to goalscoring ways, he can take us to another level.”

When asked about his alleged bust-up with *Adebayor, he said: “I’m not aware of these *rumours. You are telling me something.
“His first training session was *Tuesday. Now he has trained for the past couple of days and we will *assess it.”
