Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

If they can convince him to join I'd happily promise them to stay away from any of their players for the next decade.

Getting rid of Ade is a bigger priority, even if I had rated Reid.

Are we getting rid because we want to or because we've been pressured into it by a section of fans? Maybe they just see that his position is now untenable? Wonder if the whole caboodle will ever come out?

Are we going to replace him if he does leave? seems foolish to be left with Kane and Soldado, if Kane gets injured we are well and truly screwed

We're paying him 100K a week and his performances are brick and not improving.

According to Jack Sullivan, his dad is in France. Probably working on Gignac. Ade is a backup option at best.

Emmanuel Adebayor move to West Ham blocked by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy

Daniel Levy personally intervened to stop Emmanuel Adebayor making a controversial loan move to West Ham United because he will not pay for the striker to play for Tottenham Hotspur’s fierce rivals.

West Ham made an enquiry over taking Adebayor on loan until the end of the season after hearing that Spurs had been willing to subsidise his £100,000-a-week wages to join either Queens Park Rangers or Crystal Palace.

Adebayor turned down both QPR and Palace, but West Ham were told by Tottenham chairman Levy that, unlike the other two London clubs, they would have to pay Adebayor’s full salary to take him to Upton Park.

West Ham were prepared to pay half of Adebayor’s wages, but, with time running out on transfer deadline day, Levy was refusing to do the Hammers any favours.

Levy told West Ham officials that he could not pay a player to appear in the claret and blue of Tottenham’s bitter rivals, particularly with the clubs only separated by six points in the Premier League table.

Spurs had been hoping to offload out-of-favour Adebayor, but now face having to accommodate the 30-year-old and his expensive salary for the rest of the season.

Adebayor did not want to join a relegation fight with either QPR or Palace, who were confident of agreeing a cut-price deal with Spurs, after seeing potential moves to Roma and Paris Saint-Germain fall through last week.

Yep I agree. Ade always does well for his new club for the first three months, last thing we want is Running Track FC getting a ten goal boost.

Plus if they are only paying £2m a year for a stadium they can damn well pay his wages in full.

tickle my balls with a feather.

You've got to applaud that. I mean admittedly they may be putting words in his mouth to give the story some meat when they say he won't pay a player to appear in claret and blue, it's a typical transfer window story without a speech mark in sight, but it made me smile nonetheless!

From BBC:
Reporter John Southall says he has just spoken to QPR manager Harry Redknapp who told him: "Unless there is an absolute miracle, nothing is going to happen.
"Emmanuel Adebayor? Nothing there either unless there is a change of heart from the player."

So all three of the infamour trio are refusing to leave.........
