*** Emirates Marketing Project Vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR *** OMT

All that is nothing to do with Soldado. Was in spite of him. And where Did I say i preferred Ade? nowhere! thas where. I would prefer Kane over both of them at the moment.

You mean Soldado playing the pass that led to Eriksen scoring and playing another pass which should have led to Mason scoring was nothing to do with Soldado?????

Always going to be differant opinions in football matches. Some will see a greatt game some will see rubbish. I dont think any of our players are that bad but I think too many players are being put in a position/role that does not suit them. The lone Striker role certainly doesn't suit Soldado

I agree with this, it was lovely to watch today, really crisp passing and interchange with some quick feet from some talented players

As much as our attacking play was inventive, I did think, we also gave the ball away cheaply, way to much . ...

I want to see this front four given another run out against Saudi Sportswashing Machine next week.

Ill give you those points. But i think its case of us being used to a Famine output from Ade and then when we get a little output we think its a good performance. He could not fail to assist that goal. He missed the pen and a decent chance in front of goal. And quite a few times he lost possession and failed to harry their defenders.

What chance did he miss besides the pen? Are you referring to the one where Hart made a really good save?

Do you think Mason should have scored when Soldado played him in?

Soldado was superb today I thought. His link up play so good. Unfortunate not to score, he has a voodoo doll somewhere. Lamela so desperately needs a goal now.

Another strange comment. Better than any performance from Ade this season by a distance.

I thought it was similar to Ade's performance against Southampton, which was his last game for us. The overall attack looks much better this season, we create far better chances. Unfortunately, we don't have a high level attacker to do what Aguerro did to us today. Swap the strikers over and we'd have won this game.

I absolutely agree. But to slate him for playing one game and not scoring is completely idiotic.

Fair enough. But at some stage, he will need to do more than have a 'good' goalless game. I think frustration is creeping into people's assessments of him because of his seemingly never-ending bad luck/lack of composure in front of goal: despite him clearly being unlucky in the extreme, the best strikers overcome even that to continue finding the back of the net, and we probably paid 26 million quid expecting that he could overcome his demons and get into the scoring groove, something he has manifestly failed to do so far.

I want him given the next few games at the head of our AM trio, against relatively weaker sides: if that doesn't get him scoring, then Poch will be completely justified in dropping him to third place in our striker roster and promoting Kane ahead of him, imo. Regardless of his bad luck or undisputed work rate.

I think this team deserves their chance against Le Chateau Neuf and Pardiola next weekend.

Look. Let me get this straight. Soldaod played ok. Thats all. We are so used to such minimum output from our strikers that we are lauding an average performance. The one where Hart made a so called good save was right down his throat. But im being harsh. I just think Aguero would have score that. So yes im holding 26m Soldado up to a higher standard. Thats what we should demand.

Ade for me gives us nothing also. I am off with both of them. Dont forget that he also missed a penalty. You could see he changed his technique. He normally waits for the keeper to move then places it the other side. Today he tried to look the keep the wrong way and got found out.

So. If you want me to admit he played better then Ade. Then yes I agree. If you want me to say he had a good game then i think the idea of a good game is somewhat low around here.

Not downhearted at all really by that performance, we were well in it and causing problems right up to the sending off. Onwards and upwards.

Again, totally agree. He needs to start scoring and quickly I might add. But to jump on him for not scoring in his first start since last season is harsh. If he starts another 5 games and doesn't score then by all means go nuts and be critical.

I think this debate will probably keep going in circles. Apart from his assist I thought Soldado was pretty anonymous, but you think he was great. If Ade had played like it he would have been slaughtered. Like I said differant opinions.
Pros and cons to be taken from the game ruined by some poor reffing decisions.
Anyway onto the nexy game

I think he needs a run of games, but he needs to start scoring quickly because we can't afford to play him for another 10 games and have him not score. That said, he did well today and deserves another chance next weekend.

Soldado was good up until the penalty save and then he went back into his shell. That will be a hammer blow to his confidence. We were good going forward today at times but Eriksen and Chadli in particular did squat to help out when we lost it.

With the odd exception it looked like they didn't care how many we shipped at the end which was very disappointing to see. No pride in keeping the score down.

I never said he was great, but it was the best performance from a Spurs striker THIS SEASON, which isn't saying much, but it justifies playing him today and giving him another chance next week.
