*** Emirates Marketing Project Vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR *** OMT

Again, totally agree. He needs to start scoring and quickly I might add. But to jump on him for not scoring in his first start since last season is harsh. If he starts another 5 games and doesn't score then by all means go nuts and be critical.

The problem is that the Nobby debate has become over-egged by the (IMO) overtly harsh criticism of others such as Ade. Which in turn causes some people to jump on every tiny failure of his. I think we'd all agree that he looked generally sharper on the ball and created a couple of excellent openings, but I cannot help reflect on the rebound he simply watched/reacted late to (first-half, Mason shot, Hart pushes back out up the middle, Nobby standing just wide and still reacts late), and ponder the torrent of abuse Ade would've got for the same. I think he should be given a run personally, but again, I wish there were more balance criticisms…I suppose everyone could say that about someone over the years thug, such is football life!

All that is nothing to do with Soldado. Was in spite of him. And where Did I say i preferred Ade? nowhere! thas where. I would prefer Kane over both of them at the moment.

Baffles me how even though Mason has proved a youngster can come straight in regardless of inexperience at PL level, somehow Kane has to be protected. Whether for Spurs in the Eoropa or England U21s the lad is not only scoring regularly but is also leading the line superbly, yet continues to be overlooked despite Ade and Spldado consistently failing in front of goal he barely gets a look-in for PL games.

Not too disappointed. Obviously the result was a downer but overall performance in attack showed some signs of improvement. Solly a big improvement on Ade. Shame about the pen miss.

Poch though got this one entirely wrong imo. He should never have started a new centre back pairing against the hot Aguero. Kaboul and Verts, for all their shortcomings, were beginning to show sighs of a decent central partnership (see **** and Soton performances). Why on earth did Poch decide to break this up and give Fazio his first start against a lively skillful striker full of pace and speed? Mystifying to me and must surely rank as one of the poorest decisions he has made for us.

My other real bugbear of this perfomance (and other recent performances) was Capoue. He just doesnt offer the back four enough cover. He doesnt pick up runners, he doesnt win enough balls and he is all too often caught the wrong side of players. He isnt the answer to play alongside Mason. Unless Stambo can give us this, once again we have sold a good defensive midfielder and replaced him with an inferior replacement. What on earth is going on with our buying policy. Sotons 8-0 drubbing of Sunderland today just shows how far off the pace we really are.Baldini must go.

What about the guy that appointed him?

its a shame city are always up for playing us, its a head scratcher to think that stoke won there 1-0 but i think Aguero was injured that day. The ref was a homer but it wouldnt have mattered a jot, we were just outclassed, Eriksen should give soldado lessons on how to strike the ball. Lamela was a big disappointment for me, as others have said, he has a fragile ego and that head drops too quickly when the going gets tough. Mason was lively and put himself about but so many other anonymous performances, who can we say out there really cares about representing the club

I fail to see how Southampton winning by eight goals shows anything other than they are on a good run of form

This would have been a headline writers dream (I've - kinda considered myself one ahem)

4-KUN-HELL (with heads bowed).

Or

Moss'ed Up
Moss Dross
Moss is a a Fat C*nt (err...)

I'd really like to know why Verts didn't start ahead of Fazio. I only got to see the first half, thought we looked pretty positive when we attacked, showed some great combinations, and the high pressure resulted in winning the ball in dangerous positions a few times. Especially impressed with Mason's first half, thought he was excellent. Too bad Fat Frank is still a ****, and that we somehow always manage to concede penalties and red cards against the top teams. We need to mature, and not be so naive in the box against these teams, who tend to get penalties a lot easier than other teams.

But we're seeing some good signs, I think, so not at all that negative after today. Hopefully Soldado will have a few starts now, he was great today, I thought, such a smart footballer. It's a shame he doesn't score more goals at the moment.

There's just as many unbalanced views on Soldado, some in this thread claiming he was poor today despite creating our two best chances in the game. I don't have anything against Ade personally, I just think he's too flakey, too inconsistent and is too unreliable both on the pitch and off it and have thought he tries when he wants his entire career. I accept that there are some that don't like the guy though.

As for the chance, Adebayor probably wouldn't have even been in the box :p

It shows that you can lose half a team ( not just one player) and if you buy smart , you really can hit the ground running. Compare and contrast to the buys we made post Bale. Do you honestly think we could beat any Premiership side 8-0 in the near future?

I haven't been impressed either, but he deserves maybe another season then perhaps get rid. Don't let GB see your post btw, I think he may actually be a DoF.

I see what you mean. Might be a bit difficuly to be mature and less naive in the box against the top teams as the pen against Liverpool for example was the softest I have seen for a long time. The only solution is to not touch them at all, literally just try and block the shot/cross without touching the player for fear of giving another penalty away.

I made the point in another thread but we seem to have failed in replacing one player with the 100 or so million quid we had at our disposal. They replaced and to a certain extent so far upgraded on the players they lost.
