I'm not sure I understand what you're saying TBH.
The situation is not even 'ITK' at this point or any of that nonsense. We had a deal in place. The player had agreed personal terms. Some shenanegans went on between Parrish and Levy re: add-ons. We didn't close the deal as we would've. Arsenal lost Havertz and decided they needed to take this opportunity. Because we hadn't closed the deal they were able to. As I understand it, Eze isn't getting paid any more by the goons than we were prepared to pay him, the only difference in the deals struck is that the Goons said 'yes' to what Parrish wanted without pause. Look, maybe Parrish was playing a game with Levy, but the facts appear to be that there was a lot of dingdongering around with the add-ons and we didn't find settlement.
I have absolutely no doubt that both Eze and his agent/agency were fully aware of every sniff the goons were making, but there is nothing to suggest that we could not have closed the deal because the player/agent would've obstructed it.
One question for you. How do you define this situation as us being 'opportunistic'? Surely the only way that works is if we take advantage of the opportunity?
