Eberechi Eze

I said it seems about right. And it does. I would honestly not be surprised. After all we are the club that had Solskjaer in the boardroom ready to sign only for the (admittedly previous) ownership to p*** him off so much that he walked out....
And if it is true and the reason that's being given is to make room for Wissa that Frank wants is that ok?

It’s getting to the point that until a player is 15 minutes into their debut I can’t believe any transfer is going to happen.

After Saturday there was a sense of optimism and that’s been evaporated by one tweet. A tweet from a guy who has got it wrong quite a few times this summer, by the way

I think the amount of times we fudge things up goes beyond luck. In Ezes regard what could we have done? Perhaps pay the release fee, considering what we were looking at paying was meant to be around that figure, just in more favourable terms.....

That's true. We should have gone after him earlier. Not that a release clause really means anything though.

Its not bad luck. Everyone knew the deal with Marinakis before the window. Everyone knew they weren't going to let Elanga and MGW leave in the same window. Everyone knew Eze was basically an Arsenal player before the window and Palace just needed the replacement. We didnt have our ducks lined up this window - we are scrabbling around from unrealistic deal to unrealistic deal looking desperate with no real strategy as per usual. We are less than 2 weeks away from deadline day and we have no fit attacking midfielders, no Son replacement and short at CB if Frank wants to play a back 3 in big games. And for most of these deals it looks like we find ourselves at square one.

I agree that it looks a bit strange, but there is time left and most transfers happens towards the end. So no need to panic yet, in my opinion.

Arsenal have been in talks with him since May.

They couldnt agree terms though, so waited till someone else did, then just matched them

Exactly as we did with Brentford and Johnson and Gray
Maybe so GB but we had him ready to come, we've been talking about the terms for over a week and now we've lost him.

Have you never played that eyeing every possible trade up till the last moment before you leave a nightclub game? A 6 is hanging off your every word, but you are still making eyes with that 8 over the far side
