Djed Spence

you really do have to wonder what we was going on in the background. When Ange came in Spence seemed like the perfect fit for his system. An attack minded player with a good eye around the pitch for a pass.

Loaned straight out to Leeds.

Summer, seemed to do well in pre-season, so he was added to the Squad. But then cannot get a game, Davies playing in front of him on the left as backup to Udogie and even Gray.

Correct me if I am wrong but he he started 3 games and got Three assists and a Goal. Coventry, Soton and now United.

Ange needs to eat some serious crow over this. Do you think Spence told him to do one or something? there has to be more to this than just playing ability. I want to know.

We'll probably never know, as interesting as it would be to know.

Was starting to get game time then got injured. Think he would have gotten more game time earlier if not for that injury.

Could be that Ange wanted to see something from him attitude wise, "test him" in a way. Or perhaps he wanted to see development tactically through work on the training ground. Game time being the reward for training well and developing.

What we do know is that he looked more or less done at the club by the time Ange came in, and definitely at the end of last season. Ange brought him back in. Whatever went on in training and behind closed doors was good enough for Spence to sign a new contract.

None of those things happen if Ange didn't rate him as a footballer. We simply don't know if Ange should "eat crow" over this.

Depends, he was considered a club write off. If he comes in now, and is spectacular until end of season, establishes himself, you could say Ange played a blinder

We will never know, easy to say (and I'd be aligned) he and even Reguilon should have had more minutes even if just to fudging take workload off Porro & Udogie.

Either way, wish the kid luck, hope he's matured and gets to use the talent that is there. Solanke seems to benefit from him.

Ange eat crow? How do you know that he hasn't made Djed desperate to impress with how he has treated him? If Ange had no trust in him, do you think he would start yesterday?

it feels like he only played him after he had no other choice. That is the way it looks to me. But its just my opinion. Same with Reggie, a decent left back just doing nothing.

Again, Ange obviously rates him. If not he would have been sold, loaned out or not signed on a new deal.

Worth remembering that he wasn't here last season. He's "like a new signing". And he's been injured. Still relatively young too.

I think it was always a plan to give him game time, just a question of when.

We sold Emerson, signed no other new full back other than Gray. Going into a season with a lot more games. Of course he was rated by Ange and was going to be getting game time at some point. Why it was this late is unknown.

The last thing you want it is a fan making decisions (ok second last to your other suggestion of AI.) Fans are in way too deep to think logically. Too much heart not enough head.

Let me give you an example. Ange says that we need to play a certain entertaining way at all costs because we're Spurs. AI informs him that the fan consensus is that he's over-rotated his strategy and Spurs stakeholders are not happy that he leaves the games too open when we have leads like last night. He gets informed that it is actually OK to change the shape and tighten up according to the Spurs stakeholders. So Ange has choices to change tactically, but he can't come out and say things in pressers that simply aren't true anymore based on what he's been informed.

For me, that would be a great adoption of AI. It's still Ange making the decisions.

Yeah, that ball to Solanke for the third, not sure any of our other defensive , save for maybe Romero, see or attempt to play that ball early for Solanke to run onto. Great pass from Spence
