As long as we have Harry, we don't need to spend big on a striker. There are plenty of great deals out there, just like Perisic. Belotti is free for example. He would be a good cover for Kane.

Yes. And some competition for Son, Kane, and Deki in the meantime In 2-3 years when the inevitable start of the decline for Son and Kane begins, we'll have someone who, if he develops as expected, will be an elite attacker entering his prime. Or maybe Kane doesn't sign a new contract. Or who knows what else might happen. That's what succession planning is all about and you don't want to wait until your back is against the wall to start. Liverpool already started by buying Diaz. We should follow their example. Are you saying that Darwin would evolve as the successor to the current generation of strikers?

Liverpool was planning to buy Diaz in the summer, but stepped up their timeline because they at risk of getting gazumped by us.Kane and son have probably another 3 years in them at the top. Maybe more.
Liverpool bought diaz because we bid for him. They knew that there was a good possibility mane, salah or both could leave this summer.
£70m isn't succession planning. It's the most we've ever spent on a player.
Which is why we should buy him first, for the reasons I mentioned in the posts above. I don't think we will have trouble matching Liverpool's spending power. The issue will be how attractive we are to a player. Hopefully Conte and CL will help narrow that gap, at least for now.Presumably if Mane leaves Liverpool, they will buy Darwin Nunez, simple pimple?
Silly thread.

I think they have replaced mane with jota
The midfield has been the issue there for some timeAgree Nunez is a more focused point, not the fluid three Pool's setup uses. It would require a shift of style.
Depends on how much Pool has to spend, Jota, Diaz, Salah, Fermino, Minamino is still a fair bit of options. You probably need a body in with Mane & Origi going, but the place that really needs an upgrade is their midfield. If Salah fudges off as well, completely different story.

No goals in it and still a lack of creativity. Thiago hasn’t added anything to it IMO
But I don’t see them buying anyone obvious so far
Eriksen would be good option for them
Edit - you have forgotten Carvalho and Elliott in your list.
I agreeDon't think Klopp believes in midfield creativity (or makes it a priority), their midfield is simply to press and cover the spaces when FBs are high.
But even if you just believe in workhorses, his workhorses are getting long in the tooth (Milner, Henderson)
Agree Nunez is a more focused point, not the fluid three Pool's setup uses. It would require a shift of style.

I agree
It’s why they struggle against teams that have quality’s and defend well
They have no differentiator
Keep on banging in crosses and hope that one makes it’s target
Imagine if they had a midfielder who would step up with variety in creation and actually bang in a few goals when it mattered too
Their go too now is take of a midfielder and chuck another forward on and keep on crossing (very simplified I know)

After losing out on haaland and mbappe surprised madrid haven't made a move.
