Daniel Levy - Chairman

We had better players in more occasions than fans want to admit… because they failed
Fully agree the sacking was odd but we know it was about £££
Still we would have won that game if the ref had been barely competent
I don't know which circumstances you're talking about but I'd probably disagree with you because I find Tottenham fans have tended to overrate our players and teams over the years.

I think the only semi's we were favourites in was the Portsmouth one under Redknapp and the Sheffield United one under Poch

Agree mostly but I do think the performances left a lot to be desired, particularly the United semi final in 2018. The fact that Levy went on to sack Mourinho a week before a final after we had first hand experience in losing a semi final to him beggars belief.

How many trophies before ENIC and after ENIC?

Not trophies but a summary of pre-ENIC and ENIC era semi-final appearances in FA & league Cup:

THFC 13(pre)/12(with) (-1)
Liverpool 21/12 (-9)
Arsenal 16/15 (-1)
Man Utd 14/19 (+5)
Emirates Marketing Project 3/16 (+13)
Chelsea 7/20 (+13)
Everton 10/5 (-5)
Villa 8/6 (-2)
WHU 6/3 (-1)
Nottm Forest 9/1 (-8)
Leicester 5/2 (-3)
Leeds 7/0 (-7)
Saudi Sportswashing Machine 5/2 (-3)

We should have won something, we should have got over the line but up to a certain point we have held our own in the money doping era. Scholar and Irving missed the boat on the TV age and it has been catch up ever since with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd. Blackburn were 1/4 with a few years of Jack Walker boosterism, but look at Leeds, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Everton who weren't/aren't smaller clubs than us or Villa.

Great post.
So strange how MNC and CHE catapulted themselves forward, I wonder why.

Blackburn, then Leeds and Saudi Sportswashing Machine keeping us out of the lucrative CL slots spending money they didn't have, then MNC and Cheatski of course, using a little bit of money they didn't have such as 3 billion pounds of help... Spurs were fighting them all whilst fighting the big boys United/Pool/Arse whilst trying to stomp on the likes of Boro and Bolton and Wigan and Portsmouth and SCBC and Sunderland and Spam and Ipswich and Fulham and Villa and Huddersfield and Derby and poke them all back down into the Championship along with various other teams with ideas and money they just didn't have, like Swindon and Barnsley and Wigan and Reading and Charlton and Sunderland and we're wrestling Birmingham and fighting West Brom and strangling Norwich and Sheffield United and Luton and then they all slide back down the pole eventually and we finally get a chance to look back up after fighting all these wannabe Prem northern tinpots and find the billionaires are sat there with big grins on their faces, polishing their trophies, hiding their £3bn receipts behind their backs. Let them all rot.

Because my ex employer were very good at the job of hosting people
I only saw it because I know the account director for that client
It was with Kronke junior IIRC
He had no reason to make it up and neither do I
What do I gain from sharing it?
I don’t need clicks on twitter to make money
I can’t see how that could be kept quiet if people in the company were talking about it and it made its way to this message board.
i’m sure you took it in good faith when it was related to you but it’s sounds like gonads

-9

Liverpools ownership has been a complete disaster then right, that’s a massive regression

Depends how you want to look at it (the joy of plain stats) but yup they have been significantly less successful in the last 24 years than they were between 1976 and 2001, don't think that can be argued. Fenway is probably a better return (since 2010) than Gillet and Hicks but overall:

4 European Cups pre 2001 to 2 CL since
10 Premier League titles before to 1 since
4 FA Cups to 2.
5 League Cups to 4
3 UEFA cups to 0

All is relative but 26 trophies to 9 is quite a hell of a drop off, more trophies (obviously) than us but wow. Not a complete disaster but even so.

Does the "Pre-ENIC" era go back to the 1880s??

My point was, ENIC are being pilloried by some, for a drop off of one expected trophy (1 xT).

Some of those same people claim Liverpool have done things right, despite their regression being 9 times as bad as ours.

There is obviously huge amounts of context to apply, which is why, basing opinion of success on just one metric is madness.

Scholar and Irving?? Do you mean Irving Scholar? It's one person, the chairman before Alan Sugar.

Sorry to be a pedant but that really threw me.

Scholar was way more of a fan of the club than either Sugar and Levy. Yes he left us in a shambles financially, but he took over a financial shambles.

Oh please can we have both! An ambitious football loving chairman who also knows how to run a sustainable business!
