I'm concerned that he didn't look particularly comfortable on the right of the three. It was only one match but yeah he didn't look the best there. Hopefully if he is going to be played on the right, he is able to adjust his level and still hit his high performance standard.

Do you think it was a matter of consideration for Conte? Don’t want to jump at your post or overthink it but we talk about improving mentality a lot, if a countryman leaving is enough to affect a player than we’re already kind of screwed. I guess they’ll have bonded in the treatment room but i’d hope Romero would notice the lack of character / application in Gio and know that more is required at our club.
I am really looking forward to having this lad in the team again, however props are due to those who filled in admirably in his stead.

Don't know really. Would like to think that professional sportsmen make decisions for their careers but then again we've seen a number of players recently who for whatever reason can't perform for the shirt.
Yeah I was surprised Toby stayed another year when his fellow Dutchman Jan left.

Gotta admit, I struggled to see what made this guy so praiseworthy earlier in the season, but today, he lived up to his billing - him being back there suddenly made the defense seem almost impenetrable, like there was always someone around to make an interception, clear the ball, head away or spot the run. And it was usually him - or Sanchez, tbf.
And those fast, low passes to the feet of the forwards and the occasional sashay past the press were no mean feat either. Rolls Royce of a showing tonight.

Especially coming back from a fairly lengthy injury. Said in the match thread i was worried he might be off the pace slightly. Not at all.
The amount of interceptions bentancur made in his 20 minute cameo was also very impressive.
We'll see over a number of games but think we'll have a strong spine to the team.
