Cristian Romero

The same Romero who seemingly played with an injury/niggle earlier this season? The same Romero who was in the starting lineup against Chelsea even though he probably wasn't fully fit? The same Romero who always leaves everything in every duel on the pitch?
Yep the same one whose number one priority is Argentina and not the club that pays his massive wages week in week out

My thoughts as well, i know he is not the flavour of the month with some fans but we are a FAR better team with him in it. IMO.

Agree. The issue is getting him playing more regularly and having him really motivated. I’m not sure he is. I think we may see him agitating for a move soon, unfortunately.

Anyone in his situation probably would tbf. His likely agitation to move is the most direct of consequences of us missing out on CL last season and not pushing on this...oh well, no doubt there'll be a healthy profit to re-invest

Hope we manage to sign him to a longer contract. If not we probably have to listen to any good offer come the summer.

Hope he's also ready to play again soon.
Although he is our best passer from defence, I would take the money from Real or whoever is willing to pay big bucks for him. We can do better and he is very injury prone and reckless.

Obviously better than what we currently have but still think we can upgrade.

Madrid who haven’t spent big on signing anyone over 21 since hazard
Depends how many out of contract players they're sniffing around...Trent is one. Use your pull to get enough of them, then you might have a few bob to pay a fee. Like us,they have a new stadium to milk.

That said....I'm reading it cost them £1.5bn...and some of that not at great rates as some loans have come since rates escalated.

It’s not money
It’s just their strategy seems to be spend money on young players
Get name players on frees
They will also look at romeros injury record and think…. He isn’t worth £70m

Real will offer us £15m and two crap academy players. They dont pay big fees for senior players now

Then we don't take the deal.

Real has rightsized their wage bill and revamped the team with a focus on youth (sounds familiar?). That said, Real spends when they want, they would have spent really big on Mbappe if he had chosen to move earlier. 60M if they want Romero (and their backline needs help) will not be a show stopper for them,
