Cody Gakpo

Valid points from you and Muttley.

If, and that’s a big IF, Solanke can stay fit this year he has a real opportunity to make his case as our starting CF moving forwards. He has the ability but I have doubts about his mentality and how much he really wants it. Hopefully, if we can surround him with genuine talent as we appear to be doing we could see the best of him. He does appear to be an “arm around the shoulder” person from a psychological viewpoint and a regular run in a team doing well will do him the world of good.

As for other options, that is the sixty-thousand pound gorilla in the room. As I mentioned previously, there may be more top, top European clubs currently looking for a #9 than anytime I can recall. Do we offer Brentford 100mil for Thiago? Should we have gone for Goncalo Ramos earlier in the window? Or the guy who went to Fulham from RM? I don’t know but I shudder at seeing Richy playing there again for us after this weekend.

Market is brick, for me, I'd go for Guirassy for the short term, he and Marmoush would carry us fine. Revisit the market (Kroupi?) at end of season

The decision to let Lankshear leave doesn’t look so good now, does it? brick, after Sunday I’d start Scarlett over Richy again if Solanke can’t give us 90 minutes. I still think Deki could play CF when he returns similarly to Havertz down the road.

I’d hope our Scouting Dept. would have a line on some young, prospects in the same way that Brentford found Thiago. But I guess we’ll find out in the next week.

As much as I dream for Osimhen to join, we would have to beat out Arsenal and Barcelona to get him.

He would be the final piece for me. But I’d give it a 1% chance at best.

I keep looking at the Endrick situation. Not a big target man but plays number 9 and can be out on the right as well.

Jonathan David mooted to be leaving Juve. Another one that could add squad depth. Had a good world cup.

Totally agree about Kroupi in January. That's was part of my logic of getting Solanke going. We need to put together a winning package for Kroupi in the same way City did for Semenyo last January. Needs to be a Jan 1st close date.

I like Kroupi A LOT, think he could be the next Henry, but is he the guy to fill the CF void for us? He profiles similar to Marmoush (who I like too) as a second striker/inside winger player but without the traditional CF to play off of they often struggle in the lone #9 role.

So much of this depends on our ability to play through the press and thus not require a hold-up player at CF. If we can manage that then we can play Marmoush or Kroupi Jr at CF. If not, we will continue to struggle imo.

I think it also depends on the willingness for our striking quartet of Kroupi, Marmoush, Savinho, Kudus (example only) to defend like their lives depended on it. The best teams that have been put together in the last decade in the PL have this in abundance.

Willingness generally depends on a lack of ego and I haven’t yet seen anything in these players to believe that would be an issue.
