Got to go really no excuses, no one can hate political correctness more then me but how can anyone think you can say that word in this day and age.

i was taught it as tigger, which is surprising considering my mother was a keen racist

His apology, although a bit over the top as per usual with these situations, seems fine to me.
He says he didn't want to say it, but that it sounded like he did.
Wouldn't you have covered it up in that case? Or would you say "oh, look, here it sounds like I've used a racial slur, better make absolutely sure to air that!"?
I agree that if he's kept on it's probably because of his stature and how important he is to the BBC. That's just the financial nature of such decisions. Cost/benefit.
Clownfoot: Are you saying that you think he's a racist and that he's been keeping it (somewhat?) hidden, but this time he slipped up?
Luton: Agree completely about the difference between a black person and a non-black person using the word.
So he's neither admitting or denying it then.
I remember thinking "did he just say what I think he said?" upon watching that episode last year, which I remember clearly. But that's the whole thing, "what I think he said", not what I actually heard him explicitly say.
These uptight niggas need to just chill the **** out yo!
edit: The irony ^
