He is creativeIm not conviced he's the type of winger we really need. We already have Tel and Johnson as direct options, with only Odobert as an indirect. I think we could do with a more creative option from the right flank
Anyone would offer more creativity on the wing than Johnson and specifically with Mbeumo he is actually a pretty decent combination player. Not quite a thread of the needle passer but more than competent in a pass and move setup.I think the distinction is between direct (run in behind, get on the end of things) vs creative/indirect (good in tight spaces, dribbly, combination play). Direct better in counter attacking play (open space) and getting the final involvement. Indirect better when teams sit back and you need creativity to create the space.
I think it's a useful distinction and at least somewhat related to Mbeumo and our current winger options. Mbeumo is better than Johnson at getting a bit of separation to get off a shot etc, but perhaps doesn't offer as much creativity as some of us feel we have been missing from our wide players.
Though there are other ways of adding creativity to the team than from a right winger.
It is foolhardy to describe Brentford as mediocre. They scored more goals than us and conceded less and had the second lowest wage bill in the league last season. He scored 20 PL goals in a mediocre team, he is mustard
Anyone? Cheeky bid for Sissoko?Anyone would offer more creativity on the wing than Johnson and specifically with Mbeumo he is actually a pretty decent combination player. Not quite a thread of the needle passer but more than competent in a pass and move setup.
Ok let's not be crazy. But saying that Sissoko is way better at beating a man with the ball at his feet. And yes that was said at great pain to my mental stability.Anyone? Cheeky bid for Sissoko?
Just playing with you buddy. I know your extreme dislike for both players so thought I’d put you between a rock and a hard placeOk let's not be crazy. But saying that Sissoko is way better at beating a man with the ball at his feet. And yes that was said at great pain to my mental stability.
I realise I'm consistent, I just don't like technically poor mediocre players.![]()
