Bruno Fernandes

Looks that way. Gutted as he is exactly the kind of player we need

The little I've seen of him , I've really liked.
With Eriksen leaving and Lo Celsos underwhelming performances thus far ( can we gamble on finishing outside of the European places and not buying him?) i think we should be going all in for him.
If we allow Utd a free run to sign him then we've missed a trick.
Did Levy just low ball Betis and Sporting and see which club cracked first ?
It seems we offered £45m for both to begin with and ended up getting Lo Celso for £50m if we buy this January , cheaper than the £60m we supposedly offered for Fernandes with unnatractive repayment terms.
Surely, we would pay 5-10m more for our first choice or offer improved payment terms for the player we had a preference for?
It seems we just implemented a scatter gun approach rather than going full on for the player that we needed and we could integrate into our playing style.
The more I read about our recruitment and buying policy the more concerned I get.

Our chairman fcuked that deal up 18 months ago. I think we're now seeing why our manager wanted to bring in Grealish as the Eriksen understudy.

I doubt it is ever that straightforward. There is no logic to your 'cutting nose off to spite face' philosophy with Levy.

It was as straightforward as the manager wanting a player who was available for a reasonable price right at the start of the transfer window. A price that was significantly less than the amount we ended up offering on the final day of the transfer window. I'm not sure that Grealish would sign for us now anyway after the way that we fcuked him around 18 months ago.

How do you know this?
How do you know the detail, of for example "we messed Grealish around"?
There are so many moving parts in these deals I doubt there is a single member of this forum has any real detail of any transfer.
You do what many do on these forums, make things up to fit their view of any given subject.

Indeed. For some, rare is the occasion when they would posit a version of events that might hint at positive action or decisions by Levy.
Despite them not being in a position to know what went on.

And fair enough, we can all guess at what happened. But it's also good when prejudices are so clearly aired and allow sufficient disregard to then be applied to the words.
