AVB

Ok speaking of records, goals scored etc, what would you say was Tim's "signature game", i.e. the one game when he got most supporters feeling proud and almost knocking over themselves to say 'this guys needs time' when bumpy results hit later in his reign.

For AVB, I'd say it was the first win at Old Trafford in 23 years.
For 'Arry, I'd say it was the late 2-1 win vs Liverpool in his 3rd game when Pav scored that very late winner (of course this came straight after the Emirate 4-4 draw).

What game would you say was Tim's equivalent?

Best performance was probably away at Saudi Sportswashing Machine, we also beat Man U under Tim as well. The difference for me was the fact that he was pretty consistent with results and had the team scoring for fun, unlike post bale avb.

Haha. You get better and better! AVB is working, coaching, managing. He didn't get past the group stage of the CL with Zenit, sadly for him.

Meanwhile Tim has been doing what?:-k

How much have zenit spent? What is their wage bill? Is it acceptable for them, to not get past the group stages when pie and mash man Harry got so far in the champs league?

Ahh...mighty Saudi Sportswashing Machine who finished 10th and the worst Manure league performance in over 20 years was the pinnacle.
Says it all really doesn't it...

I'd like to know how Tim would've done without Ade in his team; probably similar to post Bale eventually...

Probably not; but just like it wasn't acceptable that Tim couldn't win a cup tie (apart from the one which we won against Dnipro when they went down to ten men; and even them we sneaked it...)

As I say, AVB left us, then got another job.

Tim left us and he's sitting on his **** writing sh!te columns and (apparently) bungling his job interviews. If Tim is soooo good he'd have a job by now as he was free all summer when loads of roles were available for him.

Personally I think it is him who is the REAL charlatan and I can't wait for him to get his next job to prove it :)

I can't believe people are still defending AVB's record. The results were similar to Sherwood's but Sherwood got a higher points per game, for all the people who love to quote stats to defend AVB, it's comical not to give Sherwood credit at the same time.

Both managers were ultimately not good enough:

Sherwood - Poor defensive record, slow starts in almost every game.
AVB - Horrible going forward, lack of a plan B, stubborn, overly negative football which amazingly still led to us receiving numerous hammerings.

As for AVB mouthing off, I really don't care. I credit him for taking SOME Of the blame, but he is shifting it also.

he definitely knew the "quality" of our time at the time he made us play conservative football.
and he was too right about ade too.

got their revenge on Terek Grozny tonight, the first team they lost to in the league this season, 10 points clear with 8 to play
