I was concerned that they seemed to pass through us for fun. It was like our players were training dummies.

I wanted Ange to survive and I have been bouncing about with my thoughts about his future at the club.

I like the idea that we can play as we did v Brighton in the first half more regularly but that has never been realised. It’s like am I hoping for too much?

Where is this bravery and passion that we thought we would have? Our football against Tamworth was as if we had secretly appointed Southgate and it wasn’t any better last night.

How long before key players return?
From a few things I've heard if we jettison Ange then we might just get the real thing.

I dont want to fire him but I can't lie and not think that a different coach could be getting better results with the same squad.
There is no doubt that many other coaches would have us better off. Even Ange's supporters would have to concede that. The rationale for keeping Ange is only two-fold in my view:

1. You're weary of changing managers every 18 months
2. You think he can ride out this storm and the long term contains more "first half v Brighton" performances than "second half v Brighton" performances.

3. No faith that the leadership at Spurs will bring in anyone better.
4. No faith that the leadership at Spurs won't lurch to a manager with a completely different football philosophy rendering recent signings to be not fit for purpose.

Both valid concerns but fall under the "weary of changing manager" heading for me.

I think the biggest reason is that we'd like to see him for a period of time with his full squad. We'd like to see things normalise back down to average injuries for a PL team.

Ah here. I defend Levy a fair bit but I'm done if that happens. Whatever about Southgate's merits as a manager, and I'd have a negative opinion of them, we'd be lurching from possibly the riskiest manager to a man who is so conservative, he makes Suella Braverman look like a Labour voter.

fudge me. That can't happen.
