American politics

Back in 1992, the great American Tex-Mex band, The Mavericks, released this snappy, poignant song about phoney televangelists. But the lyrics resonate equally with Trump's ugly demise:

You walk on higher ground
Like the holy ghost I haven't found
The mighty words you speak
They bounce off the strong but
Are heard by the weak

Their pennies just keep on coming in
Their spirits are still soaking in their sins
Some say they're even born again

See what you can find at
The end of the line
There's no end in time at
The end of the line
There's no peace of mind
At the end of the line

The time has finally come
To relinquish the throne
That doesn't belong
For only you can tell if the
Pardon will come or will you
Burn in hell

Things are close in Georgia for the Senate race. New York Times election needle gives the democrats the edge. Fingers crossed, this will be the difference between a productive Biden presidency and a frustratingly ineffective one.

One down, one to go for the democrats. Warnock win called by the Associated Press.

Ossoff currently ahead with about 3500 votes too, so a Trump meltdown is looking likely. His lawyers must be sharpwning their knives as we speak.

Great news to wake up to, hopefully Ossoff also comes over the line to be confirmed.

Of course, Trump was tweeting last night there were boxes of ballots left uncounted, taking it gracefully as usual.
