American politics

Those who compare Trump with Corybn are either glib, do so because they wish to promote an anti Corbyn agenda or both. Trump is a populist opportunist. Up until recently he was also a supporter and donor to the Democrats and the Clintons. At heart he believes in nothing, other than his own self interest, like all right wing politicians. Whether you agree with him or not, Corbyn has been a staunch and avowed socialist all his life. He has maintained his ideological position in the face of sustained pressure over decades. They are completely un-alike and to say otherwise is to be fatuous.

They are polar opposites in many ways but sadly for Corbyn, who I applaud in a small way for his principled stance, his lack the pragmatism will confine him to the political wilderness as nothing more than a professional protester.
But to 'directly' compare him to Trump is unfair on Jeremy, maybe whoever did compare them was stressing the futility of both their political futures.

Some chatter about a man named Evan McMullin about to declare as an independent candidate.

Here's a TED talk he gave (I might warn you about some disturbing images in this vid - maybe NSFW but certainly not for kids.)

The establishment refers to the in-bedded social group that possesses on-going power in a society. By any measure, that would mean the industrialist class and their party of choice has always been the Repuglians.

No, that just the party you dislike.

The Democrats hold all the power in the US and look a pretty good bet to be in for the next 4 years too.

"In-bedded social groups that possesses on-going power in a society" are just an imaginary glass ceiling used by underachievers to justify a life of missed opportunity.

the republicans have the house which gives them a fair bit of power

many of which are republicans...
I agree, but to say that the Republicans are the establishment is just silly.

We've had 8 years of a Democrat president and are almost certain to get another 4. If there's any current "establishment" it's them.

The American establishment is corporate greed. Having a republican candidate claim he intends to make life better for those at the bottom is just laughable.
